The invention claimed is: 1. A hollow hob for a cutting apparatus comprising a unitary body of a sintered hard metal composition and at least one cavity located within the body, wherein the cavity has a volume in the range of about 10% to about 90% of the volume of the body, and wherein the body includes a core having opposed sides and a sintered element fused to each side of the core so as to seal the cavity and form the unitary body. 2. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein the hard metal composition is solid cemented carbide. 3. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein the hard metal composition is solid tungsten carbide. 4. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein the hard metal composition is tungsten carbide bonded with a cobalt alloy binder. 5. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein the hard metal composition is selected from the group of tungsten, silicon, chromium, vanadium, tantalum, niobium, titanium, nickel, cobalt, iron and combinations thereof. 6. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein the core and each of the sintered element are cemented carbide of the same composition or of one or more different compositions. 7. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein at least one sintered part is fused to the body. 8. The hob according to claim 7 , wherein the at least one sintered part is a cemented carbide. 9. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein a vibration dampening medium is disposed with the at least one cavity. 10. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein a plurality of cavities are formed in the body. 11. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein a plurality of coolant holes are disposed in the body. 12. A cutting tool for a cutting apparatus comprising: a unitary body of a sintered hard metal composition; and at least one cavity located within the body, wherein the cavity has a volume in the range of about 10% to about 90% of the volume of the body, wherein the body includes a core having opposed sides and a sintered element fused to each side of the core so as to seal the cavity and form the unitary body. 13. The cutting tool according to claim 12 , wherein the hard metal composition is solid cemented carbide. 14. The cutting tool according to claim 12 , wherein the hard metal composition is tungsten carbide bonded with a cobalt alloy binder. 15. The cutting tool according to claim 12 , wherein the hard metal composition is selected from the group of tungsten, silicon, chromium, vanadium, tantalum, niobium, titanium, nickel, cobalt, iron and combinations thereof. 16. The cutting tool according to claim 12 , wherein the core and each sintered element are cemented carbide of the same composition or one or more different compositions. 17. The cutting tool according to claim 12 , wherein the at sintered element is a cemented carbide. 18. The cutting tool according to claim 12 , further comprising a vibration dampening medium disposed with the at least one cavity. 19. The cutting tool according to claim 12 , wherein the unitary body includes a core portion and two shank ends, and the core portion and the two shank ends form a solid body of contiguous material. 20. The cutting tool according to claim 12 , wherein the unitary body includes a core portion, two end plates, and two shank ends, and the core portion, two end plates and the two shank ends form a solid body of contiguous material. 21. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein the unitary body includes a core portion and two shank ends, and the core portion and the two shank ends form a solid body of contiguous material. 22. The hob according to claim 1 , wherein the unitary body includes a core portion, two end plates, and two shank ends, and the core portion, two end plates and the two shank ends form a solid body of contiguous material.
