A connection tool for a tongue manipulation system includes a connector configured to be coupled to a tongue advancer tether, a connection tool body, and a separable removal cannula part. The separable removal cannula part is configured to follow a tongue advancer tether line in order to enable a removal sleeve located at least partially within the separable removal cannula part to contact the tongue advancer. The separable removal cannula part is configured to be separated from the connection tool body following the removal sleeve contacting the tongue advancer and to expose a proximal end of the removal sleeve.

The invention claimed is: 1. A connection tool for making connection with a tongue advancer of a tongue manipulation system comprising: a connector configured to be coupled to a tongue advancer tether line, the tongue advancer tether line being connected to the tongue advancer; a connection tool body and separable removal cannula part; and a removal sleeve located at least partially within the separable removal cannula part, wherein the connection tool body and separable removal cannula part are configured to follow a tongue advancer tether line as said tether line is pulled within the connection tool, in order to enable a distal end of the removal sleeve to contact the tongue advancer, and wherein the separable removal cannula part is configured to be separable from the connection tool body following contact of the removal sleeve with the tongue advancer, to thereby expose a proximal end of the removal sleeve. 2. The connection tool as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a sliding assembly comprising a dissector body located at least partially within the separable removal cannula part and the removal sleeve located at least partially within the dissector body, the sliding assembly configured to advance over the tongue advancer tether line. 3. The connection tool as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the connection tool body comprises a floating knob, wherein the a dissector body is configured to disconnect from the floating knob when a contact has been made between the removal sleeve and the tongue advancer. 4. The connection tool as claimed in claim 1 , further configured to receive a removal adaptor configured to be coupled to the exposed proximal end of the removal sleeve when a contact has been made between the removal sleeve and the tongue advancer. 5. The connection tool as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the removal sleeve comprises an integral removal adaptor located at the proximal end of the removal sleeve. 6. The connection tool as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the dissector body further comprises a dissector tip configured to dissect tissue as the connection tool is configured to follow the tongue advancer tether line, wherein the dissector tip comprises at least one of: a flexible dissector tip configured to protect and surround the tongue advancer tether line, such that the connection tool is configured to follow the tongue advancer at an oblique angle without damaging the tongue advancer tether line; a blunt dissector tip configured to protect and surround the tongue advancer tether line, such that the connection tool is configured to follow the tongue advancer at an oblique angle without damaging the tongue advancer tether line.
