What is claimed is: 1. A device for aiming a bone fixation system, comprising: an insertion instrument including a shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end and an arm coupled to the proximal end of the shaft, the distal end of the shaft including an engagement portion configured to removably engage a proximal end of a bone fixation device, the arm including an elongated channel extending therethrough along a channel longitudinal axis, the shaft including an elongated slot extending along a sidewall thereof such that the elongated slot is open to the elongated channel; and an elongated member removably insertable through the elongated channel, the elongated member including a first shaft portion and a second shaft portion, the second shaft portion including a guide channel extending therethrough along a guide axis, wherein, when the elongated member is inserted into the elongated channel, the first shaft portion extends along the channel longitudinal axis and the second shaft portion extends through the elongated slot so that the second shaft portion is angled to extend nonparallel to the channel longitudinal axis and the first shaft portion to guide insertion of an anti-rotation screw through the guide channel into a first opening of the bone fixation device. 2. The device of claim 1 , wherein a proximal end of the first shaft portion lockingly engages the insertion instrument. 3. The device of claim 2 , wherein the first shaft portion engages the insertion instrument via a threaded engagement. 4. The device of claim 2 , wherein the first shaft portion engages the insertion instrument via a snap fit connection. 5. The device of claim 1 , wherein the arm of the insertion instrument includes a guide opening extending therethrough. 6. The device of claim 5 , further comprising: a protective sleeve insertable through the guide opening for guiding insertion of a locking screw therethrough and into a second opening of the bone fixation device. 7. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first and second shaft portions extend to a common distal end via a connecting element. 8. The device of claim 7 , wherein one of the first and second shaft portions are removably attached to the connecting element. 9. The device of claim 1 , wherein an angle at which the second shaft portion extends relative to the first shaft portion is one of 5°, 6°, 7.5° and 8°. 10. The device of claim 1 , wherein an angle at which the second shaft portion extends relative to the first shaft portion is angle greater than 5°. 11. The device of claim 1 , wherein the bone fixation device includes a bone plate and a trochanteric implant insertable through a portion thereof.
