A sheet processing apparatus includes a binding unit including a first portion and a second portion and configured to nip a sheet bundle between the first portion and the second portion to deform the sheet bundle in a thickness direction to bind the sheet bundle, and a detachment unit configured to push the bound sheet bundle toward the second portion to detach the bound sheet bundle from the first portion.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A sheet processing apparatus comprising: a binding unit including a first teeth portion and a second teeth portion, and configured to bind a sheet bundle between the first teeth portion and the second teeth portion by biting the sheet bundle with the first teeth portion and the second teeth portion; and a detachment unit configured to urge the bound sheet bundle away from the first teeth portion to detach the bound sheet bundle from the first teeth portion, wherein a surface of the first teeth portion is coarser than a surface of the second teeth portion. 2. The sheet processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the second teeth portion includes a plurality of protrusions each of which extends in a predetermined direction, wherein the first teeth portion includes a plurality of concaves each of which extends in the predetermined direction such that plurality of protrusions and the plurality of concaves can mesh with each other, and wherein a surface of the plurality of concaves is coarser than a surface of the plurality of protrusions in a cross section as viewed in the predetermined direction. 3. The sheet processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the detachment unit detaches the bound sheet bundle from the first teeth portion as the first teeth portion and the second teeth portion release the sheet bundle from the biting. 4. The sheet processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the detachment unit is moveable to protrude toward the second teeth portion beyond a tip of a protrusion of the first teeth portion in a thickness direction of the sheet bundle when the first teeth portion and the second teeth portion are separated from each other. 5. The sheet processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the detachment unit is disposed outside an area in which the first teeth portion and the second teeth portion mesh with each other as viewed in a thickness direction of the sheet bundle. 6. The sheet processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the detachment unit is disposed at both sides of an area in which the first teeth portion and the second teeth portion mesh with each other as viewed in a thickness direction of the sheet bundle. 7. The sheet processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a driving unit configured to move the detachment unit from a position where the first teeth portion and the second teeth portion bite the sheet bundle therebetween toward the second teeth portion in a state where the first teeth portion and second teeth portion are separated from each other. 8. An image forming apparatus comprising: an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet; a binding unit including a first teeth portion and a second teeth portion, and configured to bind a sheet bundle, having a sheet on which the image is formed by the image forming unit, between the first teeth portion and the second teeth portion by biting the sheet bundle with the first teeth portion and the second teeth portion; and a detachment unit configured to urge the bound sheet bundle toward the second teeth portion to detach the bound sheet bundle from the first teeth portion, wherein a surface of the first teeth portion is coarser than a surface of the second teeth portion.
