Abstract

A composition comprising a Nitrate or a Nitrite of an Amino Acid Compound selected from the group consisting of Arginine, Agmatine, Beta Alanine, Citrulline, Creatine, Glutamine, L-Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Norvaline, Ornithine, Valine, Aspartic Acid, Cysteine, Glycine, Lysine, Methionine, Proline, Tyrosine, and Phenylalanine is provided. The composition may be in a dosage form selected from the group consisting of a capsule, a cachet, a pill, a tablet, a powder, a granule, a pellet, a bead, a particle, a troche, a lozenge, a gel, a liquid, a suspension, a solution, an elixir, and a syrup.

First claim

What is claimed is:

1. A composition for human ingestion comprising a nitrate of a compound selected from the group consisting of agmatine, citrulline, and norvaline, wherein the nitrate of the compound is a salt of a nitric acid (NO 3 − ) or a mixed salt of a nitric acid (NO 3 − ) and is a solid at standard ambient temperature and pressure.

2. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the compound is agmatine.

3. The composition of claim 1 , wherein compound is citrulline.

4. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the compound is norvaline.

5. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is in a dosage form selected from the group consisting of a capsule, a cachet, a pill, a tablet, a powder, a granule, a pellet, a bead, a particle, a troche, and a lozenge.

6. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising one or more additional components selected from the group consisting of a carrier, an excipient, a binder, a colorant, a flavoring agent, a preservative, a buffer, a dilutant, and any combination thereof.

7. A composition for human ingestion comprising:
a nitrate of a compound selected from the group consisting of agmatine, beta alanine, citrulline, creatine, glutamine, isoleucine, norvaline, ornithine, aspartic acid, cysteine, glycine, lysine, proline, tyrosine, and phenylalanine, wherein the nitrate of a compound is a salt of a nitric acid (NO 3 − ) or a mixed salt of a nitric acid (NO 3 − ), and
one or more additional components selected from the group consisting of a carrier, an excipient, a binder, a colorant, a flavoring agent, a preservative, a buffer, and a dilutant.

8. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the one or more additional components is a carrier, an excipient, a binder, or a flavoring agent.

9. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is a human dietary supplement.

10. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the composition is a human dietary supplement.

11. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a capsule.

12. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a cachet.

13. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a pill.

14. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a tablet.

15. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a powder.

16. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a granule.

17. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a pellet.

18. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a bead.

19. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a particle.

20. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a troche.

21. The composition of claim 5 , wherein the dosage form is a lozenge.

22. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a carrier.

23. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising an excipient.

24. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a binder.

25. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a colorant.

26. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a flavoring agent.

27. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a preservative.

28. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a buffer.

29. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a dilutant.

30. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the one or more additional components is a carrier.

31. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the one or more additional components is an excipient.

32. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the one or more additional components is a binder.

33. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the one or more additional components is a colorant.

34. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the one or more additional components is a flavoring agent.

35. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the one or more additional components is a preservative.

36. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the one or more additional components is a buffer.

37. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the one or more additional components is a dilutant.

38. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of agmatine.

39. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of beta alanine.

40. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of citrulline.

41. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of creatine.

42. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of glutamine.

43. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of isoleucine.

44. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of norvaline.

45. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of ornithine.

46. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of aspartic acid.

47. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of cysteine.

48. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of glycine.

49. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of lysine.

50. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of proline.

51. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of tyrosine.

52. The composition of claim 7 comprising the nitrate of phenylalanine.

53. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the nitrate of the compound is the nitrate of creatine and the one or more additional component is an excipient.

54. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the nitrate of the compound is the nitrate of creatine and the one or more additional component is a flavoring agent.

55. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the nitrate of the compound is the nitrate of creatine and the one or more additional component is a colorant.
