What is claimed is: 1. A computer-implemented method for installing a component, the method comprising: generating, via a computing device of a security and automation system, a request to register the component with the security and automation system, wherein the computing device and the component are positioned within a same premises; transmitting, via the computing device, the request to an activation system that is remote from the premises; receiving, from the activation system via a first radio access technology communication link, an indication that the component is registered with a provider of the security and automation system based at least in part on the request; activating, via the computing device, the component based at least in part on the received indication; establishing a second radio access technology communication link between the computing device of the security and automation system and the component based at least in part on the indication, wherein the second radio access technology communication link is different from the first radio access technology communication link; monitoring, via the computing device, a status of the component using the second radio access technology communication link; detecting an alarm condition associated with the component based at least in part on the monitoring, wherein the component comprises a sensor and the alarm condition comprises a detected sensor event; and communicating the alarm condition to a remote monitoring system via a third radio access technology communication link between the computing device and the remote monitoring system. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: scanning, via the computing device, an identifier element associated with the component; and receiving, from a database, data associated with the component based at least in part on scanning the identifier element, the data comprising a component model, a component identifier, a component manufacturer, or any combination thereof, wherein generating the request is further based at least in part on the received data. 3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising: receiving, from the activation system, additional data associated with the component based at least in part on scanning the identifier element associated with the component, wherein the additional data comprises a settings configuration of the component for installation. 4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the additional data further comprises installation guidelines of the component or an install environment indication, or both. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the third radio access technology communication link is different from the first radio access technology communication link and the second radio access technology communication link. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the computing device comprises a control panel or a wireless mobile device. 7. A computing device configured for installing a component, comprising: a processor; memory in electronic communication with the processor; instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to: generate a request to register the component with a security and automation system, wherein the computing device and the component are positioned within a same premises; transmit the request to an activation system that is remote from the premises; receive, from the activation system via a first radio access technology communication link, an indication that the component is registered with a provider of the security and automation system based at least in part on the request; activate the component based at least in part on the received indication; establish a second radio access technology communication link between the computing device of the security and automation system and the component based at least in part on the indication, wherein the second radio access technology communication link is different from the first radio access technology communication link; monitor a status of the component using the second radio access technology communication link; detect an alarm condition associated with the component based at least in part on the monitoring, wherein the component comprises a sensor and the alarm condition comprises a detected sensor event; and communicate the alarm condition to a remote monitoring system via a third radio access technology communication link between the computing device and the remote monitoring system. 8. The computing device of claim 7 , wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to: scan an identifier element associated with the component; and receive, from a database, data associated with the component based at least in part on scanning the identifier element, the data comprising a component model, a component identifier, a component manufacturer, or any combination thereof, wherein to generate the request is further based at least in part on the received data. 9. The computing device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to: receive, from the activation system, additional data associated with the component based at least in part on the scanned identifier element, wherein the additional data comprises a settings configuration of the component for installation. 10. The computing device of claim 9 , wherein the additional data further comprises installation guidelines of the component or an install environment indication, or both. 11. The computing device of claim 7 , wherein the third radio access technology communication link is different from the first radio access technology communication link and the second radio access technology communication link. 12. A computer-program product to install a component of a security and automation system, the computer-program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions thereon, the instructions being executable by a processor to: generate, via a computing device, a request to register the component with a security and automation system, wherein the computing device and the component are positioned within a same premises; transmit, via the computing device, the request to an activation system that is remote from the premises; receive, from the activation system via a first radio access technology communication link, an indication that the component is registered with a provider of the security and automation system based at least in part on the request; activate, via the computing device, the component based at least in part on the received indication; establish a second radio access technology communication link between the computing device of the security and automation system and the component based at least in part on the indication, wherein the second radio access technology communication link is different from the first radio access technology communication link; monitor, via the computing device, a status of the component using the second radio access technology communication link; detect an alarm condition associated with the component based at least in part on the monitoring, wherein the component comprises a sensor and the alarm condition comprises a detected sensor event; and communicate the alarm condition to a remote monitoring system via a third radio access technology communication link between the computing device and the remote monitoring system. 13. The computer-program product of claim 12 , wherein the instructions are executable by the processor to: scan an identifier element associated with the component; and receive, from a database, data associated with the compone
