A customer directed golf club head manufacturing system including a self-service kiosk configured to transform a club head blank into a finished club head based upon input of a user. The self-service kiosk including a plurality of club head blanks, a kiosk control system, a user input system, and a machining system. The kiosk control system configured to prompt the user to select a plurality of predefined options that influence the configuration of the finished club head. The kiosk control system receives the user selected predefined options, identifies at least one user specific club head blank from the plurality of club head blanks that meets the requirements of the user selected predefined options, creates machining instructions, and transmits the machining instructions to the machining system to machine at least a portion of the user specific club head blank in accordance with the machining instructions to create the finished club head.

We claim: 1. A customer directed golf club head manufacturing system comprising: a self-service kiosk configured to transform a club head blank into a finished club head based upon input of a user; the self-service kiosk including a plurality of club head blanks, a kiosk control system, a user input system, and a machining system; the kiosk control system in communication with the user input system and the machining system; the kiosk control system configured to prompt the user to use the user input system to select a plurality of predefined options that influence the configuration of the finished club head, wherein the plurality of predefined options include at least two selected from a group including a bounce, a grind, a leading edge height, a leading edge offset, a score-line pattern, and a groove profile; wherein the kiosk control system receives the user selected predefined options from the user input system, identifies at least one user specific club head blank from the plurality of club head blanks that meets the requirements of the user selected predefined options, creates machining instructions specific to the at least one user specific club head blank and the user selected predefined options, and transmits the machining instructions to the machining system; and wherein the machining system machines at least a portion of the at least one of the at least one user specific club head blanks in accordance with the machining instructions to create the finished club head. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the predefined options has an editable attribute value and the user input system allows the user to increase or decrease the editable attribute value within a fixed adjustment range that is specific to at least one of the at least one user specific club head blanks. 3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the kiosk control system identifies at least two user specific club head blanks from the plurality of club head blanks that meet the requirements of the user selected predefined options, the kiosk control system presents the at least two user specific club head blanks to the user and requires the user to select a user selected club head blank from the at least two user specific club head blanks using the user input system, the kiosk control system receives the user selected club head blank from the user input system and creates the machining instructions specific to the user selected club head blank. 4. The system of claim 2 , wherein the kiosk control system is further configured to prompt the user with at least one question directed to skill level or playing conditions, receive a user question response from the user input system, and identify the at least one user specific club head blank from the plurality of club head blanks that meets the requirements of the user selected predefined options and the user question response. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the self-service kiosk includes at least one robotic arm in communication with the kiosk control system and the kiosk control system controls the at least one robotic arm to retrieve and present the at least one user specific club head blanks to the machining system. 6. The system of claim 5 , wherein the self-service kiosk includes a plurality of shafts and grips, the kiosk control system is configured to prompt the user to use the user input system to select (i) a user specified shaft from the plurality of shafts, and (ii) a user specified grip from the plurality of grips, the kiosk control system receives the user specified shaft and user specified grip from the user input system, and the kiosk control system controls the at least one robotic arm to install the user specified grip on the user specified shaft. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein kiosk control system contains a touring professional club head database containing at least a first touring professional club head design including at least a first touring professional grind and a second touring professional club head design including at least a second touring professional grind, and the kiosk control system is further configured to prompt the user to use the user input system to select from the first touring professional club head design and the second touring professional club head design, the kiosk control system receives a user selected touring professional club head design from the user input system and includes the associated first touring professional grind or the second touring professional grind as one of the user selected predefined options. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein (a) the self-service kiosk includes a data acquisition system in communication with the kiosk control system, the data acquisition system having a swing weight measurement system that measures a target swing weight of a preferred existing golf club positioned in the swing weight measurement system, and (b) the kiosk control system includes a shaft database and a grip database and prompts the user to select a desired club length, a desired shaft from the shaft database, and a desired grip from the grip database, the kiosk control system receives (i) the desired club length, the desired shaft, and the desired grip from the user input system, and (ii) the target swing weight from the swing weight measurement system, and the kiosk control system determines a target head weight for the finished club head based on at least the target swing weight, the desired club length, the desired shaft, and the desired grip, and adjusts the machining instructions to produce the finished club head having the target head weight. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein (a) the self-service kiosk includes a data acquisition system in communication with the kiosk control system, the data acquisition system having a swing weight measurement system that measures a target swing weight of a preferred existing golf club positioned in the swing weight measurement system, and a length measurement system that measures a target length of the preferred existing golf club, and (b) the kiosk control system includes a shaft database and a grip database and prompts the user to select a desired shaft from the shaft database and a desired grip from the grip database, the kiosk control system receives (i) the desired shaft and the desired grip from the user input system, (ii) the target swing weight from the swing weight measurement system, and (iii) the target length from the length measurement system, and the kiosk control system determines a target head weight for the finished club head based on at least the target swing weight, the target length, the desired shaft, and the desired grip, and adjusts the machining instructions to produce the finished club head having the target head weight. 10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the self-service kiosk includes a data acquisition system in communication with the kiosk control system, and the data acquisition system having (a) a lie angle measurement system that measures a target lie angle of a preferred existing golf club positioned by the user in the lie angle measurement system at a target orientation, and (b) a contour acquisition system that captures a 3-D image of at least a portion of the preferred existing golf club positioned at the target lie angle and the target orientation, wherein the 3-D image is transmitted to a contour transformation module that (i) identifies the location of a ground contact point with respect to a reference attribute of the preferred existing golf club, (ii) identifies a leading edge height of at least one point on the preferred existing golf club, (iii) receives a model of the at least one user specific club head blank from the kiosk control system and creates a finished club head mo
