The invention claimed is: 1. A waste receptacle comprising a container defining an interior volume, an air flow path extending from the interior volume to a clean air outlet and a suction motor, the suction motor having a suction motor inlet end downstream of the interior volume of the container and a suction motor outlet end downstream of the suction motor inlet end and in air flow communication with the ambient exterior to the container, the air flow path including the suction motor and an air treatment member which comprises a cyclone. 2. The waste receptacle of claim 1 further comprising a lid wherein the suction motor-is provided on the lid. 3. The waste receptacle of claim 2 wherein the suction motor is removably mounted to the lid. 4. The waste receptacle of claim 1 wherein the suction motor is attached to the container. 5. The waste receptacle of claim 1 wherein the suction motor is removably mounted to the container. 6. The waste receptacle of claim 1 further comprising a pre-motor filter positioned in the air flow path upstream of the suction motor. 7. The refuse container of claim 1 further comprising a lid that is moveable between a closed position and an open position. 8. The refuse container of claim 1 wherein the refuse container comprises a garbage can. 9. The refuse container of claim 7 wherein the cyclone is positioned in the air flow path downstream of the interior volume and upstream of the suction motor inlet end. 10. A waste receptacle comprising a container defining an interior volume, a dust control member providing a dust control agent comprising one or more of a liquid mist, positive ions and negative ions to the interior volume and a suction motor, the suction motor having a suction motor inlet end downstream of the interior volume of the container and a suction motor outlet end downstream of the suction motor inlet end and in air flow communication with the ambient exterior to the container. 11. The waste receptacle of claim 10 wherein the dust control agent is provided when dirt is introduced to the interior volume. 12. The waste receptacle of claim 10 wherein the dust control agent is automatically provided when dirt is introduced to the interior volume. 13. A lid for a refuse container, the lid moveable between a closed position in which the lid overlies an open upper end of the refuse container and an open position in which the refuse container may be emptied wherein the lid comprises a suction motor and, when the lid is in the closed position, an air flow path extends from the interior volume to a clean air outlet with the suction motor and an air treatment member provided in the air flow path, the suction motor is downstream of an interior volume of the refuse container and a suction motor outlet end is in air flow communication with the ambient exterior to the refuse container, wherein the air treatment member comprises a cyclone. 14. The lid of claim 13 wherein the suction motor is removably mounted to the lid. 15. The lid of claim 13 further comprising a pre-motor filter positioned in the air flow path upstream of the suction motor. 16. The lid of claim 13 further comprising a dust control member providing a dust control agent comprising one or more of a liquid mist, positive ions and negative ions to the interior volume. 17. The lid of claim 16 wherein the dust control agent is provided when dirt is introduced to the interior volume. 18. The lid of claim 16 wherein the dust control agent is automatically provided when dirt is introduced to the interior volume.
