A method (3600) and system (2800, 2900, 3000, 3100) autonomously create a restore point for a luminaire controller (2810, 3110) and restore it to proper operation when required. The luminaire controller operates by using first operating software having a first software image, and receives a second software image of second operating software. The luminaire controller communicates the first software image to a first device (2820, 3120) connected to the luminaire controller via a communication network (2805, 3105), installs the second operating software, and performs a self test of the luminaire controller. If the luminaire controller fails the self test, the luminaire controller requests via the network that the first device transfer the first software image to the luminaire controller via the network, receives the first software image, installs the first operating software, and reverts to operation with the first operating software.

We claim: 1. A method for managing environmental conditions comprising: detecting a change in occupancy status in a zone based on a sensor input; initiating a time period in response to the detecting; monitoring the occupancy status during the time period; and if the occupancy status is altered during said time period, terminating said time period and maintaining first environmental conditions, and if the occupancy status is maintained for an entirety of the time period, altering the first environmental conditions to form second environmental conditions, wherein the occupancy status is a first occupancy status, the zone is a first zone and the sensor input is a first sensor input, and wherein the method further comprises: prior to said detecting, detecting a change in second occupancy status in a second zone, which is larger than said first zone and includes said first zone, based on a second sensor input; in response to detecting the change in said second occupancy status, altering an output of at least one device to implement the first environmental conditions. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the altering the output of the at least one device actuates the output of the at least one device. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the altering the first environmental conditions to form the second environmental conditions intensifies the output of the at least one device. 4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the at least one device is at least one light source and the output is light. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one device is at least one first device and the altering the first environmental conditions to form the second environmental conditions comprises altering an output of at least one second device associated with the first zone to form said second environmental conditions in said first zone. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the change in the first occupancy status is a change from an unoccupied status to an occupied status in said first zone. 7. A system for managing environmental conditions comprising: at least one sensor configured to provide a sensor input in response to detecting a change in occupancy status in a zone; at least one device; and at least one processor configured to initiate a time period in response to receiving the sensor input, monitor the occupancy status during the time period, and if the occupancy status is altered during said time period, terminate said time period and maintain first environmental conditions, and if the occupancy status is maintained for an entirety of the time period, control at least one first device of the at least one device to alter the first environmental conditions to form second environmental conditions, wherein the occupancy status is a first occupancy status, the zone is a first zone, the sensor input is a first sensor input, and the at least one device comprises at least one second device, wherein the at least one sensor is further configured to, prior to said detecting, provide a second sensor input in response to detecting a change in second occupancy status in a second zone, which is larger than said first zone and includes said first zone, and wherein the at least one processor is further configured to, in response to receiving the second sensor input, control the at least one second device to alter an output of the at least one second device to implement the first environmental conditions. 8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to alter the output of the at least one second device by actuating the output of the at least one second device. 9. The system of claim 7 , wherein altering the first environmental conditions to form the second environmental conditions intensifies an output of the at least one device. 10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the at least one device is at least one light source and the output is light. 11. The system of claim 7 , wherein the at least one processor is configured the alter the first environmental conditions to form the second environmental conditions by altering an output of the at least one first device, which is associated with the first zone, to form said second environmental conditions in said first zone. 12. The system of claim 7 , wherein the change in the first occupancy status is a change from an unoccupied status to an occupied status in said first zone.
