The composition of claim 1 , wherein the 3-butoxypropylamine is present in an amount ranging up to about 20% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition. 6. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the 3-butoxypropylamine is present in an amount ranging from about 1% to about 10% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition. 7. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the at least one carboxylic acid is present in an amount ranging up to about 20% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition. 8. The composition of claim 1 , wherein the at least one carboxylic acid is present in an amount ranging from about 1% to about 10% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition. 9. The composition of claim 1 , further comprising at least one additive chosen from surfactants, solvents, conditioning agents, coloring agents, agents for straightening, relaxing, or permanent waving, or combinations thereof. 10. A hair treatment system comprising: (a) a hair treatment composition comprising: 3-butoxypropylamine; at least one carboxylic acid chosen from oxalic acid, malonic acid, malic acid, glutaric acid, citraconic acid, citric acid, glycolic acid, succinic acid, adipic acid, tartaric acid, fumaric acid, maleic acid, sebacic acid, benzoic acid, and glyoxylic acid monohydrate, and combinations thereof; and at least one solvent; and (b) a hair conditioning composition comprising: 3-butoxypropylamine; at least one carboxylic acid chosen from oxalic acid, malonic acid, malic acid, glutaric acid, citraconic acid, citric acid, glycolic acid, succinic acid, adipic acid, tartaric acid, fumaric acid, maleic acid, sebacic acid, benzoic acid, and glyoxylic acid monohydrate, and combinations thereof; and at least one additive. 11. The hair treatment system of claim 10 , wherein the at least one carboxylic acid present in the hair treatment composition and/or the hair conditioning composition are independently chosen from citric acid, malonic acid, oxalic acid, malic acid, glutaric acid, glycolic acid, succinic acid, adipic acid, tartaric acid, sebacic acid, glyoxylic acid monohydrate, or combinations thereof. 12. The hair treatment system of claim 10 , wherein the at least one carboxylic acid present in the hair treatment composition and/or the hair conditioning composition are independently chosen from maleic acid, citraconic acid, fumaric acid, benzoic acid, or combinations thereof. 13. The hair treatment system of claim 10 , wherein the at least one carboxylic acid present in the hair treatment composition and/or the hair conditioning composition are independently chosen from maleic acid, malonic acid, or combinations thereof. 14. The hair treatment system of claim 10 , further comprising at least one composition or agent for coloring or shaping the hair. 15. The hair treatment system of claim 14 , wherein the composition or agent for coloring or shaping the hair is present in the hair treatment composition. 16. The hair treatment system of claim 14 , wherein the agent for coloring the hair is chosen from bleaching agents, colorant compounds, or combinations thereof, and/or the agent for shaping the hair is chosen from agents for straightening, relaxing, or permanent waving the hair. 17. The hair treatment system of claim 16 , wherein: the bleaching agents are chosen from peroxides, persulfates, perborates, percarbonates, peracids, bromates, their salts, or mixtures thereof; and the colorant compounds are chosen from oxidation dyes, direct dyes, pigments, or mixtures thereof. 18. A method for treating hair, the method comprising: (a) applying to the hair, a hair treatment composition comprising: 3-butoxypropylamine; at least one carboxylic acid chosen from oxalic acid, malonic acid, malic acid, glutaric acid, citraconic acid, citric acid, glycolic acid, succinic acid, adipic acid, tartaric acid, fumaric acid, maleic acid, sebacic acid, benzoic acid, and glyoxylic acid monohydrate, and combinations thereof; and at least one solvent. 19. The method of claim 18 , further comprising applying to the hair a hair conditioning composition, the hair conditioning composition comprising: 3-butoxypropylamine; at least one carboxylic acid chosen from oxalic acid, malonic acid, malic acid, glutaric acid, citraconic acid, citric acid, glycolic acid, succinic acid, adipic acid, tartaric acid, fumaric acid, maleic acid, sebacic acid, benzoic acid, and glyoxylic acid monohydrate, or combinations thereof; and at least one additive. 20.
