What is claimed is: 1. A combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine, comprising: a cylinder wall defining a cylinder; a first fuel injector disposed in a first opening in the cylinder wall and a second fuel injector disposed in a second opening in the cylinder wall; and a piston head disposed in the cylinder, a piston bowl at least partially defined by a first wall having a generally spiral shape and by a second wall having a generally spiral shape being provided in a top of the piston head, wherein a center portion of the piston bowl is substantially circular in shape, wherein the first and second fuel injectors are oriented relative to the piston bowl so that central axes of injected fuel jets from the first and second fuel injectors are tangent to the center portion. 2. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 1 , wherein depths of the first and second spiral shaped walls increase toward a center portion of the piston bowl. 3. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 2 , wherein the piston bowl is further defined by first and second ramps defined on one edge by the first and second spiral shaped walls, respectively, and on another edge by the center portion of the piston bowl. 4. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 3 , wherein the first and second fuel injectors are oriented relative to the piston bowl so that central axes of injected fuel jets are generally perpendicular to a central axis of the piston. 5. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the first and second spiral shaped walls increase in depth from the outer ends of the first and second spiral shaped walls toward inner ends of the first and second spiral shaped walls at the center portion. 6. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the center portion of the piston bowl is substantially flat. 7. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the center portion of the piston bowl is concave. 8. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the first spiral shaped wall and the second spiral shaped wall are rotationally symmetrical. 9. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 1 , wherein a top surface of the top of the piston head is substantially flat, and the piston bowl and the first and second spiral shaped walls are recessed relative to the top surface. 10. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 9 , wherein first and second recesses defining outer ends of the first and second spiral shaped walls are disposed inwardly from an outer peripheral edge of the top of the piston head. 11. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 10 , wherein the first and second fuel injectors are oriented relative to the piston bowl so that central axes of injected fuel jets from the first and second fuel injectors are generally aligned with centers of the first and second recesses. 12. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the first and second spiral shaped walls increase in depth from the outer ends of the first and second spiral shaped walls toward inner ends of the first and second spiral shaped walls. 13. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 12 , wherein the inner ends of the first and second spiral shaped walls merge into an S-shaped partition between two concave portions of the center portion of the piston bowl. 14. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the first and second spiral shaped walls are between 20-100 mm in length. 15. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 1 , wherein a periphery of the top of the piston head is recessed at an outer end of the first and second spiral shaped walls. 16. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 15 , wherein the first and second fuel injectors are oriented relative to the piston bowl so that central axes of first and second injected fuel jets are generally aligned with centers of recesses at the outer ends of the first and second spiral shaped walls. 17. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 1 , comprising a second piston head disposed in the cylinder, a second piston bowl at least partially defined by a second wall having a generally spiral shape being provided in a top of the second piston head, the top of the first piston head facing the top of the second piston head. 18. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 17 , wherein the second piston head is a mirror image of the first piston head. 19. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 17 , comprising at least one inlet port in the cylinder wall below a top dead center and above a bottom dead center of the first piston head and at least one outlet port in the cylinder wall below a top dead center and above a bottom dead center of the second piston head. 20. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 19 , wherein center portions of the first and second piston bowls are substantially circular in shape, and a central axis of the at least one inlet port is offset relative to the central axis of the cylinder and substantially tangent to the center portions of the first and second piston bowls. 21. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 20 , wherein a central axis of the at least one outlet port is offset relative to the central axis of the cylinder and substantially tangent to the center portions of the first and second piston bowls. 22. The combustion chamber for an internal combustion engine as set forth in claim 19 , wherein center portions of the first and second piston bowls are substantially circular in shape, and a central axis of the at least one outlet port is offset relative to the central axis of the cylinder and substantially tangent to the center portions of the first and second piston bowls. 23.
