A virtual reality (VR) system including a head mounted display (HMD), a sensor or input device, and options, selection, and display modules. The HMD displays a VR environment including sports content of a live game, a prerecorded game, or a sports channel. The options module generates an options signal to show viewing options in the VR environment. The viewing options define viewing aspects for viewing the sports content within the VR environment. The sensor or input device generates signals based on detection of movement of the HMD, movement of an eyeball of a user, user voice communication, or user contact with the input device. The selection module, based on the signals: selects the sports content and a viewing option; and generates a selection signal. The display module displays the sports content in the VR environment based on the selection signal.

What is claimed is: 1. A virtual reality system comprising: a head mounted display configured to display a virtual reality environment including sports content of a live game, a prerecorded game, or a sports channel; an options module configured to generate an options signal to show a plurality of viewing options in the virtual reality environment, wherein the plurality of viewing options define viewing aspects for viewing the sports content within the virtual reality environment; an upgrade module configured to generate a signal to display a selectable option for an upgraded viewing perspective downloaded from a headend on the head mounted display, the upgraded viewing perspective having a higher price as compared to a non-upgraded viewing perspective associated therewith; at least one of a sensor or an input device connected to the head mounted display and configured to generate a plurality of signals for selecting the sports content, wherein the selectable option is based on detection of at least one of movement of the head mounted display, movement of an eyeball of a user, voice communication of the user, or user contact with the input device using the at least one sensor or input device; a selection module configured to based on recognizing the plurality of signals, select the sports content, and based on recognizing the plurality of signals, generate a selection signal corresponding to the upgraded viewing perspective; and a display module configured to, based on the selection signal from the selection module selecting the sports content, switch from displaying a first field of view showing a first window showing video displays of multiple sporting events simultaneously with a second window displaying a game to displaying a second field of view corresponding to the upgraded viewing perspective from within a facility in which a sports game is being played. 2. The virtual reality system of claim 1 , wherein: the selection module is configured to select the sports game based on the plurality of signals; the options module is configured to display a view of inside the facility in which the sports game is played; the selection module is configured to select a point of reference within the facility for viewing the sports game based on the plurality of signals; and the display module is configured to display a view from the point of reference in the virtual reality environment. 3. The virtual reality system of claim 1 , wherein: the selection module is configured to, based on the plurality of signals, generate the selection signal indicating a change from a first point of reference to a second point of reference; the first point of reference is at a first location within the facility in which the sports game is played; the second point of reference is at a second location within the facility in which the sports game is played; and the display module is configured to switch from displaying views from the first point of reference to the second point of reference based on the selection signal. 4. The virtual reality system of claim 1 , wherein the sports content includes video content of at least one of the sports channel, the sports game, or a view within the facility in which the sports game is played. 5. The virtual reality system of claim 1 , further comprising a controller of the head mounted display configured to receive the sports content via a network and from the headend. 6. The virtual reality system of claim 1 , further comprising a virtual reality device comprising the head mounted display. 7. The virtual reality system of claim 6 , wherein the virtual reality device includes a mobile device, such that a display of the mobile device serves as the head mounted display. 8. The virtual reality system of claim 1 , wherein: the selection module is configured to, based on the plurality of signals, select the sports game played within the facility and at least one of a section within the facility, a seat location within the facility, a camera location within the facility, or a point of reference from within the facility; and the display module is configured to, based on the selection signal, display a view of the sports game as seen from within the section, at the seat location, from the camera location, or at the point of reference. 9. The virtual reality system of claim 1 , wherein the selection module is configured to, based on the plurality of signals: select a point of reference at a location within the facility where the sports game is being played; and change a viewing angle at the point of reference for viewing inside the facility in the virtual reality environment. 10. A method of operating a virtual reality system, the method comprising displaying on a head mounted display a virtual reality environment including sports content of a live game, a prerecorded game, or a sports channel; generating an options signal to show a plurality of viewing options in the virtual reality environment, wherein the plurality of viewing options define viewing aspects for viewing the sports content within the virtual reality environment; generating a signal to display, on the head mounted screen display, a selectable option for an upgraded viewing perspective downloaded from a headend having a higher price as compared to a non-upgraded viewing perspective associated therewith; storing an authorization level corresponding to the upgraded viewing perspective; generating, via at least one of a sensor or input device connected to the head mounted display, a plurality of signals for selecting the sports content and the selectable option based on detection of at least one of movement of the head mounted display, movement of an eyeball of a user, voice communication of the user, or user contact with the input device using the at least one sensor or input device; based on recognizing the plurality of signals, selecting the sports content; based on recognizing the plurality of signals generating a selection signal corresponding to the upgraded viewing perspective of the plurality of viewing options; and displaying the sports content in the virtual reality environment, switching from displaying a first field of view showing a first window showing video displays of multiple sporting events simultaneously with a second window displaying a live game to displaying a second field of view corresponding to the upgraded viewing perspective from within a facility in which a sports game is being played based on the selection signal and the upgraded viewing perspective. 11. The method of claim 10 , further comprising: selecting a sports game based on the plurality of signals; displaying a view of inside the facility in which the sports game is played; selecting a point of reference within the facility for viewing the sports game based on the plurality of signals; and displaying a view from the point of reference in the virtual reality environment. 12. The method of claim 10 , further comprising: based on the plurality of signals, generating the selection signal indicating a change from a first point of reference to a second point of reference, wherein the first point of reference is at a first location within a facility in which a sports game is played, wherein the second point of reference is at a second location within the facility in which the sports game is played; and switching from displaying views from the first point of reference to the second point of reference based on the selection signal. 13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the sports content includes video content of at least one of the sports channel, a sports game, or a vie
