An organic light-emitting display device includes: first and second pixel electrodes (PEs); a pixel-defining layer (PDL) disposed on the first and second PEs, the pixel-defining layer including first and second openings respectively exposing the first and second PEs; first and second intermediate layers (ILs) respectively disposed on the first and second PEs exposed via the first and second openings, each of the first and second ILs including an emission layer; first and second opposite electrodes (OEs) respectively disposed on the first and second ILs, the first and second OEs having an island-shaped pattern; first and second protective layers (PLs) respectively disposed on the first and second OEs, the first and second PLs having an island-shaped pattern; and a connection layer disposed on the first and second PLs, the connection layer electrically connecting the first and second OEs to one another.

What is claimed is: 1. An organic light-emitting display device comprising: first and second pixel electrodes; a pixel-defining layer disposed on the first and second pixel electrodes, the pixel-defining layer comprising first and second openings respectively exposing the first and second pixel electrodes; first and second intermediate layers respectively disposed on the first and second pixel electrodes exposed via the first and second openings, each of the first and second intermediate layers comprising an emission layer; first and second opposite electrodes respectively disposed on the first and second intermediate layers, each of the first and second opposite electrodes having an island shape in a plan view; first and second protective layers respectively disposed on the first and second opposite electrodes, each of the first and second protective layers having an island shape in the plan view; and a connection layer disposed on the first and second protective layers, the connection layer electrically connecting the first and second opposite electrodes to one another. 2. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 1 , wherein: the first protective layer is wider than the first opposite electrode; and the second protective layer is wider than the second opposite electrode. 3. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 2 , wherein an end of the first protective layer and an end of the second protective layer contact the pixel-defining layer. 4. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 1 , wherein the first and second protective layers comprise an amorphous material. 5. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 4 , wherein the first and second protective layers comprise an amorphous conductive oxide. 6. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 5 , wherein the first and second protective layers comprise at least one of an amorphous transparent conductive oxide and a transparent amorphous oxide semiconductor. 7. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 4 , wherein the first and second protective layers comprise an amorphous insulating inorganic material. 8. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 7 , wherein the first and second protective layers comprise at least one of an oxide, an oxynitride, and a nitride. 9. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 7 , wherein the connection layer is electrically connected to the first and second opposite electrodes via contact holes in the first and second protective layers. 10. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 1 , wherein the first and second opposite electrodes comprise a metallic layer. 11. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 1 , wherein the first and second opposite electrodes comprise at least one of Ag, Mg, Al, Yb, Ca, Li, Au, and LiF. 12. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 1 , further comprising: an encapsulation layer disposed on the connection layer, the encapsulation layer comprising at least one organic layer and at least one inorganic layer, wherein the connection layer is disposed between the encapsulation layer and pixel-defining layer. 13. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first and second intermediate layers further comprises at least one of a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, an electron transport layer, and an electron injection layer. 14. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 1 , wherein the connection layer is integrally formed and covers the first and second protective layers. 15. An organic light-emitting display device comprising: first and second pixel electrodes; a pixel-defining layer disposed on the first and second pixel electrodes, the pixel-defining layer comprising first and second openings respectively exposing the first and second pixel electrodes; first and second intermediate layers respectively disposed on the first and second pixel electrodes exposed via the first and second openings, each of the first and second intermediate layers comprising an emission layer; first and second opposite electrodes respectively disposed on the first and second intermediate layers, each of the first and second opposite electrodes having an isolated pattern, the isolated pattern of the first opposite electrode being, in a plan view, spaced apart from the isolated pattern of the second opposite electrode; first and second protective layers respectively disposed on the first and second opposite electrodes, each of the first and second protective layers having an isolated pattern, the isolated pattern of the first protective layer being, in the plan view, spaced apart from the isolated pattern of the second protective layer; and a connection layer disposed on the first and second protective layers and overlapping the first and second opposite electrodes, the connection layer electrically connecting the first and second opposite electrodes to one another. 16. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 15 , wherein: the first protective layer is wider than the first opposite electrode; and the second protective layer is wider than the second opposite electrode. 17. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 16 , wherein an end of the first protective layer and an end of the second protective layer contact the pixel-defining layer. 18. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 15 , wherein the first and second protective layers comprise an amorphous material. 19. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 18 , wherein the first and second protective layers comprise an amorphous conductive oxide. 20. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 18 , wherein the first and second protective layers comprise at least one of an amorphous transparent conductive oxide and a transparent amorphous oxide semiconductor. 21. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 18 , wherein the first and second protective layers comprise an amorphous insulating inorganic material. 22. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 21 , wherein the connection layer is electrically connected to the first and second opposite electrodes via contact holes in the first and second protective layers. 23. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 21 , wherein the first and second protective layers comprise at least one of an oxide, an oxynitride, and a nitride. 24. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 15 , wherein: the first and second opposite electrodes comprise a metallic layer; and the metallic layer comprises at least one of Ag, Mg, Al, Yb, Ca, Li, Au, and LiF. 25. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 15 , further comprising: an encapsulation layer disposed on the connection layer, the encapsulation layer comprising at least one organic layer and at least one inorganic layer, wherein the connection layer is disposed between the encapsulation layer and pixel-defining layer. 26. The organic light-emitting display device of claim 15 , wherein at least one of the first and second intermediate layers further comprises at least one of a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, an electron transport layer, and an electron injection layer. 27.
