Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Provided is a seat sliding device. The seat sliding device comprises a fixed-side rail, a movable-side rail, a lock portion, an elastically deforming portion, a releasing member, and a restricting portion. The movable-side rail comprises an open-sectional portion including two side walls and a lid wall. The lock portion is displaceable between a restraint position and a release position. The releasing member is provided between the elastically deforming portion and the lid wall. The restricting portion is configured to provide a space through which an insertion-side end of the releasing member is insertable between the elastically deforming portion and the lid wall.

What is claimed is: 1. A seat sliding device that slidably supports a seat, the seat sliding device comprising: a fixed-side rail; a movable-side rail that is slidable with respect to the fixed-side rail and that is configured to support the seat, the movable-side rail comprising an open-sectional portion comprising two side walls and a lid wall that couples the two side walls to each other; a lock portion that is displaceable between a restraint position, in which sliding of the movable-side rail with respect to the fixed-side rail is restrained, and a release position, in which such restraint is eliminated; an elastically deforming portion that is elastically deformable between a state supporting the lock portion in the restraint position and a state supporting the lock portion in the release position, the elastically deforming portion being housed in the movable-side rail, wherein the elastically deforming portion comprises: a linear portion that is an elastically deformable portion extending in a direction approximately parallel to a longitudinal direction of the movable-side rail, a first engaging portion and a second engaging portion that are provided on an extending-direction free end of the linear portion and that engage with a releasing member, and wherein the first engaging portion and the second engaging portion protrude toward a width-direction center of the movable-side rail such that respective free ends of the first engaging portion and the second engaging portion are located closer to the width-direction center than portions of the linear portion from which the first engaging portion and the second engaging portion protrude; the releasing member being configured to switch a deformed state of the elastically deforming portion, the releasing member extending from a side of the lock portion toward one longitudinal end side of the movable-side rail and being provided between the elastically deforming portion and the lid wall within the movable-side rail; and a restricting portion provided at the one longitudinal end side of the movable-side rail, the restricting portion being configured to provide a space through which an insertion-side end of the releasing member, which is an end thereof located on the side of the lock portion, is insertable between the elastically deforming portion and the lid wall, wherein the restricting portion is defined by an inclined portion that is inclined towards a width-direction center of the movable-side rail and protrudes downward from above, and a leading end of the inclined portion separated from the movable-side rail is located downward from a root portion of the inclined portion that is coupled to the moveable-side rail. 2. The seat sliding device according to claim 1 , wherein the restricting portion is provided on at least one of the two side walls. 3. The seat sliding device according to claim 1 , wherein the restricting portion is provided on each of the two side walls. 4. The seat sliding device according to claim 1 , wherein the restricting portion is configured with a protruding piece protruding from one of the two side walls toward the other, and wherein the protruding piece constituting the restricting portion is inclined with respect to a height direction, which is a direction approximately parallel to a direction from a side of the lid wall toward an open side of the movable-side rail. 5. The seat sliding device according to claim 1 , wherein the restricting portion is provided at a position allowing for contact with an extending-direction leading end portion of the linear portion. 6. The seat sliding device according to claim 5 , wherein the releasing member comprises an engaged portion, with which the engaging portion engages, and wherein the releasing member comprises a sliding contact portion, with which the engaging portion is slidingly contactable, the sliding contact portion being provided on a portion that is on a side of the elastically deforming portion in the releasing member and that extends from the side of the lock portion to the engaged portion. 7. The seat sliding device according to claim 1 , wherein the restricting portion is provided at a position allowing for contact with the linear portion. 8. A seat sliding device that slidably supports a seat, the seat sliding device comprising: a fixed-side rail; a movable-side rail that is slidable with respect to the fixed-side rail and that is configured to support the seat, the movable-side rail comprising an open-sectional portion comprising two side walls and a lid wall that couples the two side walls to each other; a lock portion that is displaceable between a restraint position, in which sliding of the movable-side rail with respect to the fixed-side rail is restrained, and a release position, in which such restraint is eliminated; an elastically deforming portion that is elastically deformable between a state supporting the lock portion in the restraint position and a state supporting the lock portion in the release position, the elastically deforming portion being housed in the movable-side rail; a releasing member that is configured to switch a deformed state of the elastically deforming portion, the releasing member extending from a side of the lock portion toward one longitudinal end side of the movable-side rail and being provided between the elastically deforming portion and the lid wall within the movable-side rail; a restricting portion provided at the one longitudinal end side of the movable-side rail, the restricting portion being configured to provide a space through which an insertion-side end of the releasing member, which is an end thereof located on the side of the lock portion, is insertable between the elastically deforming portion and the lid wall; and an operation portion protruding from one longitudinal end of the movable-side rail, wherein the releasing member and the operation portion are one piece of metal having a closed sectional shape. 9. The seat sliding device according to claim 1 , wherein the releasing member comprises an engaged portion, with which the engaging portion engages and that is contactable with the engaging portion from both sides in the extending direction across the engaging portion, and wherein a position in which the engaging portion and the engaged portion contact each other is between one end and another end of the releasing member in a height direction, which is a direction approximately parallel to a direction from a side of the lid wall toward an open side of the movable-side rail. 10. The seat sliding device according to claim 1 , wherein the restricting portion inhibits a distance between the elastically deforming portion and the lid wall from being equal to or less than an end height dimension of the releasing member, wherein the end height dimension is a dimension of the releasing member in a height-direction, which is a direction approximately parallel to a direction from a side of the lid wall toward an open side of the movable-side rail, at an end located on the side of the lock portion. 11. The seat sliding device according to claim 10 , wherein the end height dimension is a smallest height dimension of the releasing member. 12. The seat sliding device according to claim 9 , wherein the restricting portion is provided on the other longitudinal end side of the movable-side rail with respect to the engaging portion. 13. The seat sliding device according to claim 1 , wherein the restricting portion is positioned vertically above the elastically deforming portion and vertically beneath the lid wall with respect to a bottom surface
