The invention claimed is: 1. A detection device that detects an operation by a user for a midair display, the device comprising: an operation detector that detects a position of the operation based on a value that changes based on a distance between the midair display and the user, the midair display occupying a position within a predetermined detection range of the operation detector; and a processor that changes a positional relationship between a detection reference at which the operation is determined to be performed and the midair display, wherein the processor is capable of changing the positional relationship based on the user. 2. The detection device according to claim 1 , wherein the processor changes the positional relationship between the detection reference and the midair display by controlling the detection reference based on the operation. 3. The detection device according to claim 2 , wherein the processor changes the positional relationship by changing a position of the detection reference. 4. The detection device according to claim 3 , wherein the processor controls the position of the detection reference based on a direction of the operation for the midair display. 5. The detection device according to claim 2 , wherein the processor controls a direction to move the detection reference based on whether or not the position of the operation detected by the operation detector reaches the detection reference. 6. The detection device according to claim 5 , wherein: the operation is a press down operation for the midair display; and the processor moves the detection reference in a direction of the press down operation or in a direction opposite to the direction of the press down operation. 7. The detection device according to claim 6 , wherein the position of the operation detected by the operation detector is a position based on a reach position of the press down operation or a designated position by the user. 8. The detection device according to claim 6 , wherein the processor moves the detection reference in the direction opposite to the direction of the press down operation when the position of the operation detected by the operation detector reaches the detection reference. 9. The detection device according to claim 6 , wherein the position of the operation detected by the operation detector is a position based on a reach position of the press down operation or a designated position. 10. The detection device according to claim 2 , wherein the processor controls a part of the detection reference. 11. The detection device according to claim 10 , wherein: the midair display includes a first midair display and a second midair display; and the detection reference includes a first detection reference at which the operation for the first midair display is determined to be performed and a second detection reference at which the operation for the second midair display is determined to be performed. 12. The detection device according to claim 11 , wherein the processor sets the first detection reference and the second detection reference at different positions. 13. The detection device according to claim 2 , wherein the processor changes the positional relationship by setting a size of the detection reference along a direction of the operation. 14. The detection device according to claim 13 , wherein the processor controls the size of the detection reference along the direction of the operation based on a quantity of the operation. 15. The detection device according to claim 1 , wherein: the processor sets the detection reference, and the processor changes the positional relationship between the set detection reference and the midair display. 16. The detection device according to claim 1 , further comprising: a memory that stores the detection reference. 17. The detection device according to claim 1 , wherein the processor changes the positional relationship based on the operation by the user. 18. The detection device according to claim 17 , wherein the processor changes the positional relationship so as to set the detection reference over a predetermined range that includes a reach position of a press down operation for the midair display by the user. 19. The detection device according to claim 18 , wherein the processor sets the detection reference over a three dimensional area between (i) a position set apart from the reach position by a predetermined distance along a direction opposite from a direction in which the press down operation is performed and (ii) the reach position. 20. The detection device according to claim 18 , wherein the processor determines the reach position for the press down operation based on a velocity or an acceleration of the press down operation by the user. 21. The detection device according to claim 1 , wherein the processor changes the positional relationship based on a designated position designated by the user. 22. The detection device according to claim 21 , wherein: the operation by the user is performed with a finger of the user; and the processor designates a detected position of the finger as the designated position when a sound from the user is detected. 23. The detection device according to claim 17 , wherein the processor changes the positional relationship based on a plurality of operations performed by the user. 24. The detection device according to claim 1 , further comprising: a camera that captures an image of the operation by the user, wherein the operation by the user is detected based on the image captured by the camera. 25. The detection device according to claim 1 , further comprising: a display that displays the midair display. 26. An electronic apparatus equipped with the detection device according to claim 1 . 27. A detection method for detecting an operation by a user for a midair display, the method comprising: detecting, by an operation detector, a position of the operation based on a value that changes based on a distance between the midair display and the user, the midair display occupying a position within a predetermined detection range of the operation detector; and changing, by the user, a positional relationship between a detection reference at which the operation is determined to be performed and the midair display. 28. The detection method according to claim 27 , wherein changing the positional relationship between the detection reference and the midair display is performed by controlling the detection reference based on the operation. 29. The detection device according to claim 1 , wherein the detection reference is a detection area. 30. The detection method according to claim 27 , wherein the detection reference is a detection area. 31. The detection device according to claim 29 , wherein: the detection area is a three-dimensional area; and at least one depth of the three-dimensional area or a central position of the three-dimensional area is changeable by the processor. 32. The detection device according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is capable of changing the positional relationship between the detection reference and the midair display based on a detected sound from the user. 33. The detection
