Official abstract text for this publication.
An annular cage provided with a taper roller bearing includes: a small-diameter annular portion, a large-diameter annular portion, and a plurality of column portions which link the small-diameter annular portion and the large-diameter annular portion to each other, and further includes roller retaining portions which prevent taper rollers accommodated in pockets from falling out to the outer side in the radial direction. Each of the roller retaining portions has a shape of a protruding beam that is a fixed end on the column portion side and on the small-diameter annular portion side, extends in the circumferential direction and in a column portion longitudinal direction, and is a free end on the tip end side in the extending direction.

The invention claimed is: 1. A taper roller bearing comprising: an inner ring that includes a small flange that is positioned on a first side in an axial direction and that protrudes to an outer side in a radial direction, and a large flange that is positioned on a second side in the axial direction and that protrudes to the outer side in the radial direction; an outer ring that is positioned on the outer side in the radial direction of the inner ring; a plurality of taper rollers that are positioned between the inner ring and the outer ring; and an annular cage that includes a small-diameter annular portion that is positioned on one side of the cage, a large-diameter annular portion that is positioned on an opposite side of the cage, and a plurality of column portions that link the small-diameter annular portion and the large-diameter annular portion with each other, and in which pockets are formed, the pockets being spaces formed between the large-diameter annular portion and the small-diameter annular portion and between the column portions adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction, and holding the plurality of taper rollers at an interval in the circumferential direction, wherein: the cage includes roller retaining portions that prevent the taper rollers accommodated in the pockets from falling out to the outer side in the radial direction, the roller retaining portions including first roller retaining portions on a small-diameter portion side of the column portions and second roller retaining portions on a large-diameter portion side of the column portions, each of the roller retaining portions is a beam that protrudes from a column portion of the plurality of column portions, a recess portion is provided in an outer side of each of the column portions in the radial direction, and allows adjacent pockets to communicate with each other, and a depth of the recess portion is zero at an end of the recess portion on the one side of the cage in the axial direction, and increases from the one side to the opposite side of the cage in the axial direction. 2. The taper roller bearing according to claim 1 , wherein the first roller retaining portions and the second roller retaining portions are separated from each other in the longitudinal direction of each of the column portions. 3. The taper roller bearing according to claim 2 , wherein: each of the first roller retaining portions includes an arc surface portion that provides a continuous arc from each of the first roller retaining portions to the outer circumferential surface of the small-diameter annular portion, and a width in the circumferential direction of each of the pockets defined as a dimension between one pair of roller retaining portions provided on both sides in the circumferential direction of each of the pockets is smaller than a width of each of the taper rollers. 4. The taper roller bearing according to claim 1 , wherein an outer circumferential surface of the small-diameter annular portion is a part of a slide contact surface that is slidably in contact with an inner circumferential surface of the outer ring so as to position with respect to the radial direction of the cage. 5. The taper roller bearing according to claim 1 , wherein: the second roller retaining portions are provided on a large-diameter annular portion side of the cage and protrude in the circumferential direction from the column portions, and the second roller retaining portions are discontinuous with the large-diameter annular portion, and the beam of the second roller retaining portions is configured to be deformed independently from the large-diameter annular portion. 6. The taper roller bearing according to claim 1 , wherein: a part of an outer circumferential surface of the small-diameter annular portion, a part of the radial outer surface of the column portion, and a radial outer surface of the first roller retaining portions are part of a first slide contact surface, which slidably comes into contact with an inner circumferential surface of the outer ring, and the first slide contact surface is configured to be positioned in a same inclined plane in the radial direction relative to a second slide contact surface on the large-diameter portion side of the column portions.
