Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Aerosolized compositions including a cyclic oligosaccharide; a fragrance; a volatile solvent; and a propellant; wherein the aerosolized composition is free of nonvolatile solvents are described herein. The aerosolized compositions and methods disclosed herein may provide a longer lasting fragrance.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A method for delivering an improved moisture-triggered fragrance release system comprising: contacting a suitable substrate with an aerosolized composition comprising i) methyl-β-cyclodextrin; ii) a fragrance; iii) from about 30% to about 60%, by weight of the composition, of a volatile solvent; iv) from about 25% to about 60%, by weight of the composition of a propellant; and v) optionally, a nonvolatile solvent; wherein the weight ratio of the nonvolatile solvent, when present, to the methyl-β-cyclodextrin is less than 1:25. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the methyl-β-cyclodextrin comprises from about 0.75% to about 5% by weight of the aerosolized composition. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the volatile solvent comprises ethanol. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the aerosolized composition is free of an antiperspirant active. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the aerosolized composition is free of nonvolatile solvents. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the nonvolatile solvent is selected from the group consisting of benzyl benzoate, diethyl phthalate, triethyl citrate, propylene glycol, isopropyl myristate, dipropylene glycol, and mixtures thereof. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the methyl-β-cyclodextrin comprises a fragrance.
