A registration carrier assembly (300) that enables parallel tagging of a geometrically regular set of objects is described. The registration carrier assembly (300) includes a registration carrier (310) comprising a frame (311) surrounding a window (312) through the registration carrier, a first pressure sensitive adhesive coated on one side of the registration carrier (310) and a plurality of regularly spaced tags (100) distributed across the registration carrier and adhered to the registration carrier. Each of the tags includes a tab portion having a unique printed identifier, an anchor portion (120) to attach the tag to one of the objects of the geometrically regular set, and a tether portion connecting the tab portion to the anchor portion.

What is claimed is: 1. A registration carrier assembly that enables parallel tagging of geometrically regular set of objects, the registration carrier assembly comprising: a registration carrier comprising a frame surrounding a window through the registration carrier; a first pressure sensitive adhesive applied on one major surface of the registration carrier; a plurality of regularly spaced tags disposed across the window of the registration carrier and adhered to the registration carrier by the first pressure sensitive adhesive; and a second pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on at least a portion of the tag, wherein the second pressure sensitive adhesive is exposed when the tag is adhered to the registration carrier by the first pressure sensitive adhesive, wherein each of the plurality of regularly spaced tags comprises a tab portion having a unique identifier disposed thereon; an anchor portion to attach the tag to one of the objects in the geometrically regular set of objects; and a tether portion connecting the tab portion to the anchor portion of the tag. 2. The registration carrier assembly of claim 1 , wherein each tag of the plurality of regularly spaced tags includes a unique identifier disposed on a first side of the tag. 3. The registration carrier assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a release liner disposed covering any exposed portions of the first and second pressure sensitive adhesives. 4. The registration carrier assembly of claim 3 , wherein the release liner is a split release liner having a first section disposed over a first portion of the registration carrier assembly that includes the window through the registration carrier and the anchor portions of the plurality of regularly spaced tags disposed across the window in the registration carrier and a second section disposed over a second portion of the registration carrier assembly where the tab portions of the plurality of regularly spaced tags are disposed. 5. The registration carrier assembly of claim 1 , wherein the registration carrier assembly further comprises a registration feature disposed along a longitudinal edge of the frame to facilitate aligning the registration carrier assembly with the geometrically regular set of objects to which the plurality of regularly spaced tags are to be applied. 6. The registration carrier assembly of claim 1 , wherein the second pressure sensitive adhesive is disposed on the anchor portion of the tag. 7. The registration carrier assembly of claim 1 , wherein the anchor portion of the tag is disposed across the window in the registration carrier and wherein the second pressure sensitive adhesive is exposed when the tag is adhered to the registration carrier. 8. The registration carrier assembly of claim 1 , wherein the second pressure sensitive adhesive has a higher bond strength than the first pressure sensitive adhesive to allow differential release of the registration carrier compared to the tags when the tags are adhered to the geometrically regular set of objects. 9. The registration carrier assembly of claim 1 , wherein the unique identifiers on the tab portion of any of the plurality of regularly spaced tags on the carrier are correlated, such that knowing any one of the unique identifiers distinguishes each other unique identifier disposed on each remaining tag on the carrier. 10. A registration carrier assembly that enables parallel tagging of geometrically regular set of objects, the registration carrier assembly comprising: a registration carrier; a first pressure sensitive adhesive applied on one major surface of the registration carrier; a plurality of regularly spaced tags; each tag comprising a unique identifier disposed on a first side of the tag and a second pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on at least a portion of the tag and wherein the plurality of regularly spaced tags are distributed across the registration carrier and adhered to the registration carrier by the first pressure sensitive adhesive such that the second pressure sensitive adhesive is exposed when the tag is adhered to the registration carrier, wherein the unique identifiers on the plurality of regularly spaced tags on the carrier are correlated, such that knowing any one of the unique identifiers distinguishes each other unique identifier code disposed on the carrier, wherein each of the plurality of regularly spaced tags comprises a tab portion having a unique identifier disposed thereon; an anchor portion to attach the tag to one of the objects in the geometrically regular set of objects; and a tether portion connecting the tab portion to the anchor portion of the tag. 11. The registration carrier assembly of claim 10 , wherein the registration carrier further comprises a frame surrounding a window through the registration carrier. 12. The registration carrier assembly of any of claim 10 , wherein the second pressure sensitive adhesive has a higher bond strength than the first pressure sensitive adhesive to allow differential release of the registration carrier compared to the tags when the tags are adhered to the geometrically regular set of objects. 13. The registration carrier assembly of claim 10 , wherein the anchor portion of the tag is disposed across the window in the registration carrier and wherein the second pressure sensitive adhesive is exposed when the tag is adhered to the registration carrier. 14. A method of efficiently installing a plurality uniquely marked identification tags, the method comprising: providing a registration carrier assembly that includes a registration carrier having a frame surrounding a window through the registration carrier, a first pressure sensitive adhesive coated on one major surface of the registration carrier; a release liner disposed over the exposed first pressure sensitive adhesive on the registration carrier, and a plurality of regularly spaced tags distributed across the registration carrier and adhered to the registration carrier by the first pressure sensitive adhesive, wherein each of the plurality of regularly spaced tags comprises a tab portion having a unique identifier thereon, an anchor portion to attach the tag to a geometrically regular set of objects, and a tether portion connecting the tab portion to the anchor portion of the tag; removing at least a portion the release liner from a leading longitudinal edge of the registration carrier assembly; attaching the leading longitudinal edge of the registration carrier assembly across the geometrically regular set of objects to be labeled; securing the anchor portion of each tag to one of the regular set of objects; and recording the unique identifier from one of the plurality of regularly spaced tags allowing each of the tags on the carrier to be associated with a corresponding one of the regular set of objects labeled. 15. The method of claim 14 , further comprising removing the registration carrier from the secured labels. 16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the carrier further includes a registration feature disposed along a longitudinal edge of the frame of the registration carrier assembly, aligning the registration feature on the registration carrier assembly with the geometrically regular set of objects to which the plurality of regularly spaced tags are to be applied.
