Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Methods, systems, and apparatus for providing assistance to a user of a mobile application are described. A request for assistance from the user is detected and a request is issued to a remote device for establishment of a remote assistance session. Information describing a state of the mobile device is periodically transmitted to the remote device and one or more commands may be received from the remote device. The commands may be executed on the mobile device.

What is claimed is: 1. An apparatus comprising: one or more processors; a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations, comprising: receiving a request to establish a connection from a mobile device executing a mobile application and information comprising an indication of a state of the mobile application executing on the mobile device; transmitting the information received from the mobile device to a remote device; receiving a command from the remote device, the command being based on an emulation of the mobile application by the remote device; and sending the command to the mobile device. 2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the information describes content of a display of the mobile device. 3. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the information comprises a change to content displayed on a display of the mobile device. 4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the information includes a memory dump of the mobile device. 5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the information includes a list of processes executing on the mobile device. 6. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising instructions for determining a completion status of a session with the mobile device. 7. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising instructions for negotiating a screen capture parameter. 8. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising instructions for accessing account information associated with the mobile application. 9. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising instructions for automatically determining a course of action for providing assistance based on the emulation of the mobile application, the emulation including mimicking of a sequence of states of an execution of the mobile application. 10. A method comprising: receiving, using at least one hardware processor, a request to establish a connection from a single mobile application executing on a mobile device and information comprising an indication of a state of the single mobile application executing on the mobile device; transmitting, using the at least one hardware processor, the information received from the single mobile application to a remote device; receiving, using the at least one hardware processor, a command from the remote device, the command being based on an emulation of the single mobile application by the remote device; and sending, using the at least one hardware processor, the command to the single mobile application. 11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the information describes content of a display of the mobile device. 12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the information comprises a change to content displayed on a display of the mobile device. 13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the information includes a memory dump of the mobile device. 14. The method of claim 10 , wherein the information includes a list of processes executing on the mobile device. 15. The method of claim 10 , further comprising determining a completion status of a session with the mobile device. 16. The method of claim 10 , further comprising negotiating a screen capture parameter. 17. The method of claim 10 , further comprising accessing account information associated with the mobile application. 18. The method of claim 10 , further comprising automatically determining a course of action for providing assistance based on the emulation of the mobile application, the emulation including mimicking of a sequence of states of an execution of the mobile application. 19. A non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations, comprising: receiving a request to establish a connection from a mobile application executing on a mobile device and information comprising an indication of a state of the mobile application executing on the mobile device; transmitting the information received from the mobile application to a remote device; receiving a command from the remote device, the command being based on an emulation of the mobile application by the remote device; and sending the command to the mobile application. 20. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 19 , further comprising instructions for automatically determining a course of action for providing assistance based on the emulation, the emulation including mimicking of a sequence of states of an execution of the mobile application.
