Described herein are nitroxyl progenitor compounds, and compositions including, and methods or generating, the compounds thereof, and methods of treating or preventing disease and disease symptoms using the compounds and compositions.

What is claimed: 1. A compound of formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof: wherein: R 1 and R 2 , together with the nitrogen to which they are both attached, form a heteroaryl ring, wherein the heteroaryl ring is pyrrolyl or indolyl; wherein the heteroaryl ring is optionally substituted with from 1-4 groups selected from the group consisting of halo, COOH, NO 2 and ═O; m is 0; and n is 0. 2. The compound of claim 1 , or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R 1 and R 2 , together with the nitrogen to which they are both attached, form a heteroaryl ring, wherein the heteroaryl ring is substituted with from 1-4 groups selected from the group consisting of halo, COOH, NO 2 and ═O. 3. A compound selected from the group consisting of: 4. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of Formula (I) in claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
