Systems and methods of monitoring progress of delivery of a patient-specific medication are disclosed. A patient/medication identification (ID) device is provided on a package containing the medication, the patient/medication ID device comprising medication/patient information indicative of the medication and the patient. At least one location ID device is provided at a location, the at least one location ID device comprising a unique location ID associated with the location. The medication/patient information and the patient/medication ID are read. Delivery progress information indicative of a last-known read location where at least one of the medication/patient ID information and the unique location identifier was read is generated. The delivery progress information is stored in a database. The delivery progress information is accessed from the database in response to the request. A delivery status of the medication is indicated to the user.

What is claimed is: 1. A system comprising: a medical database configured to store at least one of order status information or delivery progress information of a medication having a medication order number; a tracking device configured to receive a tracking request to monitor the at least one of order status information or delivery progress information, the tracking request includes at least a patient's name and the medication order number; a patient/medication identification (ID) device provided on the medication; at least one location ID device provided at a respective location, each location ID device comprising a unique location ID associated with the respective location; at least one reader device configured to read the patient/medication ID device and the at least one location ID device; and a processor in data communication with the at least one reader device configured to: determine a last-known location of the medication based on the patient/medication ID and the unique location ID, when the last-known location of the medication based on the patient/medication ID and the unique location ID correspond to a delivery location of the medication, determine whether the medication is delivered within a time of a predetermined time interval, and store the last-known location and the time to the medical database. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the patient/medication ID device comprises at least one of an RFID tag and a barcode label. 3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the at least one reader device is configured to read the at least one of the RFID tag and the barcode label and to be coupled to a storage device at the delivery location. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one reader device is at a stationary location comprising a starting location, the delivery location, a prep/fill area, or a pickup station. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the delivery progress information comprises a delivery time and an identification of a delivery person when the last-known location is the delivery location. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the tracking device includes a display that is configured to display a map of a facility and to indicate the last-known location on the map. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the tracking device comprises an automatic dispensing machine (ADM). 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor in data communication with the at least one reader device is further configured to generate an electronic notification message based on a determination of whether the medication is delivered within the predetermined time interval. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the tracking device in data communication with the medical database and configured to: retrieve a portion of the delivery progress information from the medical database; and indicate a progress of delivery of the medication based on retrieved delivery progress information. 10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the patient/medication ID device comprises at least one of a passive ID device or an active ID device, wherein the at least one reader device comprises at least one of a passive ID device reader or an active ID device reader. 11. A system comprising: a medical database configured to store at least one of order status information or delivery progress information of a medication having a medication order number; a tracking device configured to receive a tracking request to monitor the at least one of order status information or delivery progress information, the tracking request includes at least a patient and the medication order number; a patient/medication identification (ID) device comprising medication/patient information indicative of the medication and the patient; at least one reader device at a respective location capable of reading the ID device and correlating a location of the ID device to the respective location; a processor in data communication with the at least one reader device, the processor configured to: determine a last-known location of a package based on a received medication/patient information associated with the package and a location ID; when the last-known location of the package based on the received medication/patient information associated with the package and the location ID correspond to a delivery location of the package, determine whether the package is delivered within a predetermined time interval; and send an electronic notification message to the tracking device, the electronic notification message being the at least one of order status information or delivery progress information of the package. 12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the patient/medication ID device comprises at least one of an RFID tag and a barcode label and the at least one reader device is configured to read the at least one of the RFID tag and the barcode label and to be coupled to a storage device at the delivery location. 13. The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one reader device is at a stationary location comprising a starting location, the delivery location, a prep/fill area, or a pickup station. 14. The system of claim 11 , wherein the delivery progress information comprises a delivery time and an identification of a delivery person when the last-known location is the delivery location. 15. The system of claim 11 , the tracking device includes a display that is configured to display a map of a facility and to indicate the last-known location on the map. 16. The system of claim 11 , wherein the tracking device in data communication with the medical database and configured to: retrieve a portion of the delivery progress information from the medical database; and indicate a progress of delivery of the medication based on retrieved delivery progress information. 17. The system of claim 11 , wherein the patient/medication ID device comprises at least one of a passive ID device or an active ID device, wherein the at least one reader device comprises at least one of a passive ID device reader or an active ID device reader. 18. A method comprising: receiving, from a user, a tracking request to monitor delivery progress information of a medication; receiving, from a reader device, ID information indicative of the medication and a patient based on an ID device on a package for the medication while the reader device and the package are at a location identified by a location ID; generating the delivery progress information indicative of a last-known location of the package based on the ID information and the location ID; and sending a notification to a tracking device, when the last-known location corresponds to a delivery location of the package, the notification indicating the delivery location and the delivery progress information. 19. The method of claim 18 , wherein the location ID is a stationary location and includes one of a starting location, the delivery location, a prep/fill area, or a pickup station. 20. The method of claim 18 , wherein the delivery progress information comprises a delivery time and an identification of a delivery person when the last-known location is the delivery location.
