Compounds and compositions are disclosed, which are useful as inhibitors of acetyltransferase Eis, a mediator of kanamycin resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

What is claimed is: 1. A compound selected from the group consisting of: wherein R 1 is selected from the group consisting of H, p-F, m,p-di-F; and R 2 is selected from the group consisting of H, o-F, m-F, m-Cl, m-Br, m-OH, m-OMe, p-F, p-Cl, p-Br, and p-Me. 2. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound of claim 1 , and a suitable pharmaceutical carrier. 3. A method of treating aminoglycoside-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), comprising administering an effective amount of the compound of claim 1 . 4. The method of claim 3 , and further comprising administering an aminoglycoside. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the aminoglycoside is kanamycin (KAN). 6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the aminoglycoside is administered to a subject in need of treatment for aminoglycoside-resistant Mtb. 7. A composition comprising the compound of claim 1 and an aminoglycoside. 8. The composition of claim 7 , wherein the aminoglycoside is kanamycin (KAN).
