Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Generally discussed herein are systems, devices, and methods for data management in a reverse content data network (rCDN). A component of the rCDN may include a memory to hold content received from a first sensor device of a plurality of sensor devices of the rCDN and first attributes that describe properties of the content. The component may include processing circuitry to receive second content from a second sensor device of the plurality of sensor devices, the second content including a plurality of second attributes that describe properties of the second content, and forward, in response to a determination, based on the first and second attributes, that there is insufficient space to store the second content on the memory, the second content to a node of the rCDN that is fewer hops away from a backend cloud than the component.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A component of a reverse content distribution network (rCDN), the component comprising: a memory to hold: content received from a first sensor device of a plurality of sensor devices of the rCDN; and first attributes that describe properties of the content; processing circuitry to: receive second content from a second sensor device of the plurality of sensor devices, the second content including a plurality of second attributes that describe properties of the second content; and forward, in response to a determination, based on the first and second attributes, that there is insufficient space to store the second content on the memory, the second content to a node of the rCDN that is fewer hops away from a backend cloud than the component. 2. The component of claim 1 , wherein the content further includes third content from multiple sensor devices of the rCDN, wherein the first attributes include a sensor identification (ID) of the multiple sensor devices, and wherein the processing circuitry is further to: compare a sensor ID of the second sensor device to sensor IDs in the memory; and create, in response to a determination that the sensor ID of the second sensor device does not match one of the sensor IDs in the memory, a content summary of the second content, the content summary less than the second content. 3. The component of claim 2 , wherein the first attributes include a location at which the third content was created, and the processing circuitry is further to: compare the location to a location associated with the sensor ID in the memory; and in response to a determination that the location does not match the location associated with the sensor ID in the memory, create the content summary of the second content. 4. The component of claim 2 , wherein the processing circuitry is further to: in response to a determination that the sensor ID of the second sensor is in the memory, determine whether the second content is similar to the content in the memory. 5. The component of claim 4 , wherein the determination of whether the second content is similar to the content in the memory occurs further in response to a determination that the location of the second sensor matches a location associated with the sensor ID in the memory. 6. The component of claim 4 , wherein the determination of whether the second content is similar to the content in the memory includes a comparison of the content summary to other content summaries in the memory. 7. The component of claim 4 , wherein the content summary includes a subset of the second content. 8. The component of claim 4 , wherein the first attributes include a time to live (TTL) and a date and time the content was created, wherein the processing circuitry is further, in response to determining the second content is similar to other content in the memory, to: drop the second content; and update at least one of the TTL or a date and time the other content was created. 9. The component of claim 1 , wherein the processing circuitry is further to: encode the second content from an analog format to a digital format. 10. The component of claim 1 , wherein the processing circuitry is further to: compress encoded, second content to reduce a size of the second content. 11. The component of claim 1 , wherein the processing circuitry is further to: determine whether a retention priority of the content in the memory is greater than a priority threshold; and determine whether a popularity of the content in the memory is greater than a popularity threshold. 12. The component of claim 11 , wherein the processing circuitry is further to: in response to a determination that the retention priority is less than the priority threshold and the popularity is greater than the popularity threshold, increase the retention priority. 13. The component of claim 12 , wherein the processing circuitry is further to: in response to a determination that the retention priority is less than the priority threshold and the popularity is less than the popularity threshold, remove corresponding content from the memory. 14. A method performed by a component of a reverse content distribution network (rCDN), the component including a memory to hold content received from a first sensor device of a plurality of sensor devices of the rCDN and first attributes that describe properties of the content, the method comprising: receiving second content from a second sensor device of the plurality of sensor devices, the second content including a plurality of second attributes that describe properties of the second content, and forwarding, in response to a determination, based on the first and second attributes, that there is insufficient space to store the second content on a memory, the second content to a node of the rCDN that is fewer hops away from a backend cloud than the component. 15. The method of claim 14 , further comprising: determining whether a retention priority of the content is greater than a priority threshold; and determining whether a popularity of the content is greater than a popularity threshold. 16. The method of claim 15 , further comprising: in response to a determination that the retention priority is less than the priority threshold and the popularity is greater than the popularity threshold, increasing the retention priority. 17. The method of claim 16 , further comprising: in response to a determination that the retention priority is greater than the priority threshold and the popularity is less than the popularity threshold, decreasing the retention priority. 18. The method of claim 15 , further comprising: updating a retention priority of each content in the memory based on a popularity of the content, the popularity including an indication of a number of times the content was provided in response to an interest packet. 19. The method of claim 15 , further comprising: determining that a retention priority of the content on the memory is below a priority threshold; identifying which set of content of the content includes a lowest retention priority; and removing the set of content with the lowest priority from the memory. 20. At least one non-transitory machine-readable storage device including instructions stored thereon that, when executed by processing circuitry of a component of a reverse content distribution network (rCDN), cause the processing circuitry to perform operations comprising: receiving second content from a second sensor device of the plurality of sensor devices, the second content including a plurality of second attributes that describe properties of the second content; and forwarding, in response to a determination, based on the second attributes, that there is insufficient space to store the second content on a memory, the second content to a node of the rCDN that is fewer hops away from a backend cloud than the component. 21. The at least one non-transitory machine-readable storage device of claim 20 , wherein the operations further comprise: determining whether a retention priority of the content is greater than a priority threshold; and determining whether a popularity of the content is greater than a popularity threshold. 22. The at least one non-transitory machine-readable storage device of claim 21 , wherein the operations further comprise: determining whether a category of the received content matches a category of the content on the memory.
