Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A bracket assembly comprising an elongated bracket member and an end wall support member. The elongated bracket member has a body wall having an inner end and an outer end. A first end wall extends from the inner end of the body wall and a second end wall extends from the outer end. The end wall support member is attached to each of the first end wall and the second end wall. The bracket member further comprises a plurality of fibers within a resin matrix. The plurality of fibers includes at least one fiber fabric extending from the first end wall to the second end wall.

What is claimed is: 1. A bracket assembly for a wall structure, comprising: an elongated bracket member having a cross-sectional configuration defining, through pultrusion, a body wall having an inner end and an outer end, with a first end wall extending from the inner end of the body wall and a second end wall extending from the outer end; a first end wall support member attached to the first end wall and a second end wall support member attached the second end wall; wherein the bracket member further comprises a plurality of glass fibers within a solid resin matrix, wherein the plurality of glass fibers includes at least one glass fiber fabric embedded within the solid resin matrix and extends through the first end wall, through the body wall and through the second end wall; and wherein the second end wall support is positioned along an inner surface of the second end wall, and a clamping member positioned along the outer surface of the second end wall opposite the second end wall support, with each of the second end wall support and the clamping member being formed from a metal member. 2. The bracket assembly of claim 1 wherein the first end wall has a proximal end at the body wall and a distal end extending therefrom, and the second end wall has a proximal end and the body wall and a distal end extending therefrom, the at least one glass fiber fabric extending to a region proximate the distal end of the first end wall and to a region proximate the distal end of the second end wall. 3. The bracket assembly of claim 2 wherein the at least one glass fiber fabric comprises one of a woven glass fiber fabric and a stitched glass fiber fabric. 4. The bracket assembly of claim 3 wherein the at least one glass fiber fabric comprises at least two glass fiber fabrics, each extending between a region proximate the distal end of the first end wall and a region proximate the distal end of the second wall. 5. The bracket assembly of claim 4 wherein the first end wall and the second end wall are substantially parallel to each other and substantially perpendicular to the body wall. 6. The bracket assembly of claim 1 wherein the clamping member and the second end wall support are integrally formed, with a portion thereof extending over a distal end of the second end wall. 7. The bracket assembly of claim 1 wherein a portion of the clamping member extends over at least one of an upper surface of the body wall and the distal end of the second end wall. 8. The bracket assembly of claim 7 wherein the clamping member includes a surface variation, whereupon attachment to the outer surface, includes a biasing element. 9. The bracket assembly of claim 1 wherein at least one of the first end wall support member and the second end wall support member comprises at least one of a convex and a concave structure, to, in turn, exert a biasing force upon installation thereof. 10. The bracket assembly of claim 1 wherein the second end wall support member is adhered to an inner surface of the second end wall. 11. A wall structure comprising: an inner wall having an outer surface; an outer cladding having an inner surface; a plurality of bracket assemblies, at least one of the bracket assemblies comprising: an elongated bracket member having a cross-sectional configuration defining, through pultrusion, a body wall having an inner end and an outer end, with a first end wall extending from the inner end of the body wall and a second end wall extending from the outer end; a first end wall support member attached to the first end wall and a second end wall support member attached the second end wall; wherein the bracket member further comprises a plurality of glass fibers within a solid resin matrix, wherein the plurality of glass fibers includes at least one glass fiber fabric embedded within the solid resin matrix and extends through the first end wall, through the body wall and through the second end wall, wherein the bracket assembly is positioned so that an outer surface of the first end wall overlies the outer surface of the inner wall, and an outer surface of the second end wall overlies the inner surface of the outer cladding, wherein a first fastener extends through the first end wall support member the bracket member and into the inner wall, the first fastener extending through the at least one glass fiber fabric; wherein a second fastener extends through the outer cladding, through the bracket member and through the second end wall support member, the second fastener extending through the at least one glass fiber fabric embedded within the second end wall; and wherein at least one of the bracket assemblies further includes a clamping member that is positioned between an outer surface of the second end wall and the inner surface of the outer cladding, with the second end wall support member and the clamping member each formed from a metal member. 12. The wall structure of claim 11 wherein the first fastener and the second fastener are spaced apart from a respective upper and lower edge of the at least one glass fiber fabric. 13. The wall structure of claim 12 wherein the first end wall has a proximal end at the base wall and a distal end spaced apart therefrom, the second end wall has a proximal end at the base wall and a distal end spaced apart therefrom, the first fastener extending through the first end wall between the proximal and distal end thereof, the second fastener extending through the second end wall between the proximal and distal end thereof. 14. The wall structure of claim 12 wherein the bracket assembly comprises a plurality of bracket assemblies that are oriented in one of a horizontal and vertical orientation. 15. The wall structure of claim 11 wherein the at least one fiber fabric comprises a plurality of glass fiber fabrics arranged in a substantially side by side configuration. 16. The wall structure of claim 11 wherein the first end wall and the second end wall are substantially parallel to each other and substantially perpendicular to the base wall. 17. The wall structure of claim 11 wherein the clamping member includes a plurality of retaining strips that include a front panel, a top panel and a bottom panel, the top panel overlying a portion of the base wall, and the bottom panel overlying a portion of a distal end of the second end wall.
