We claim: 1. A method for the treatment of asthma, comprising the step of administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of 2-(1-(4-amino-3-(3-fluoro-4-isopropoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-1-yl) ethyl)-5-fluoro-3-(3-fluorophenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of administering simultaneously or sequentially to the subject in need thereof at least one other anti-inflammatory agent, immunosuppressive agent, steroid, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, or a mixture thereof. 3. A method for the treatment of asthma, comprising the step of administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of (+)-2-(1-(4-amino-3-(3-fluoro-4-isopropoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-1-yl) ethyl)-5-fluoro-3-(3-fluorophenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 4. The method of claim 3 , further comprising the step of administering simultaneously or sequentially to the subject in need thereof at least one other anti-inflammatory agent, immunosuppressive agent, steroid, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, or a mixture thereof. 5. A method for the treatment of asthma, comprising the step of administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of (−)-2-(1-(4-amino-3-(3-fluoro-4-isopropoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-1-yl) ethyl)-5-fluoro-3-(3-fluorophenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising the step of administering simultaneously or sequentially to the subject in need thereof at least one other anti-inflammatory agent, immunosuppressive agent, steroid, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, or a mixture thereof. 7. A method for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, comprising the step of administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of 2-(1-(4-amino-3-(3-fluoro-4-isopropoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-1-yl) ethyl)-5-fluoro-3-(3-fluorophenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising the step of administering simultaneously or sequentially to the subject in need thereof at least one other anti-inflammatory agent, immunosuppressive agent, steroid, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, or a mixture thereof. 9. A method for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, comprising the step of administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of (+)-2-(1-(4-amino-3-(3-fluoro-4-isopropoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-1-yl) ethyl)-5-fluoro-3-(3-fluorophenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising the step of administering simultaneously or sequentially to the subject in need thereof at least one other anti-inflammatory agent, immunosuppressive agent, steroid, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, or a mixture thereof. 11. A method for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, comprising the step of administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of (−)-2-(1-(4-amino-3-(3-fluoro-4-isopropoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-1-yl) ethyl)-5-fluoro-3-(3-fluorophenyl)-4H-chromen-4-one or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising the step of administering simultaneously or sequentially to the subject in need thereof at least one other anti-inflammatory agent, immunosuppressive agent, steroid, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, or a mixture thereof.
