Athletic activity may be tracked while providing encouragement to perform athletic activity. For example, energy expenditure values and energy expenditure intensity values may be calculated and associated with a duration and type of activity performed by an individual. These values and other movement data may be displayed on an interface in a manner to motivate the individual and maintain the individual's interest. The interface may track one or more discrete “sessions”. The sessions may be associated with energy expenditure values during a duration that is within a second duration, such as a day, that is also tracked with respect to variables, such as energy expenditure. Other individuals (e.g., friends) may also be displayed on an interface through which a user's progress is tracked. This may allow the user to also view the other individuals' progress toward completing an activity goal and/or challenge.

We claim: 1. A computer-implemented method comprising: automatically initiating a first time clock for measuring, by a first device worn by a first user, athletic activity during a first predetermined time period; receiving movement data from one or more sensors of the first device during the first predetermined time period; initiating calculation of an energy expenditure value for the first user for the first predetermined time period based on at least the movement data received from the one or more sensors, an activity factor indicating an energy requirement for the athletic activity, and an activity intensity factor; after initiating the calculating of the energy expenditure values for the first predetermined time period, initiating a second time clock for measuring athletic activity during a second non-predetermined time period that is within the first predetermined time period; initiating a session for the first user based on second movement data received from the one or more sensors of the first device during the second non-predetermined time period; receiving locational data of the first user during the second non-predetermined time period; determining that the session is associated with a first activity type based on the locational data for the first user; receiving, from a second device associated with the first user, additional data; determining, based on an analysis of the additional data received from the second device associated with the first user, that the first user has remained stationary; and responsive to determining, based on the additional data received from the second device associated with the first user, that the first user has remained stationary, pausing the session. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: terminating the second time clock prior to the termination of the first time clock; automatically determining a final energy expenditure value for the first predetermined time period and a final energy expenditure value for the second non-predetermined time period; and displaying the final energy expenditure value for the first predetermined time period and a final energy expenditure value for the second non-predetermined time period on the first device. 3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising: displaying the final energy expenditure value for the first predetermined time period and a final energy expenditure value for the second non-predetermined time period of the first user on the first device. 4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the first device comprises a body-worn device and the second device comprises a cellular device. 5. The method of claim 2 , further comprising: automatically matching at least a portion of the movement data collected during the second non-predetermined time period to an activity template; and automatically classifying the final energy expenditure value determined for the second non-predetermined time period as being a user activity based on the matching. 6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: terminating the second non-predetermined time period for the first user upon determining that an energy expenditure intensity value for the first user during the second non-predetermined time period has decreased below a threshold level. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: pausing the second non-predetermined time period for the first user upon determining that an energy expenditure intensity value for the first user during the second non-predetermined time period has decreased below a threshold level. 8. The method of claim 6 , further comprising: tagging the session with a date. 9. The method of claim 8 , tagging the session with a date comprises: receiving a user input that provides a tag. 10. The method of claim 8 , further comprising: receiving a user input configured to add data to the session. 11. The method of claim 4 , further comprising: receiving a user input configured to modify an intensity variable for the second movement data collected during the second non-predetermined time period. 12. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: calculating a plurality of energy expenditure intensity values, comprising at least a first energy expenditure intensity value and a second energy expenditure intensity value, during the second non-predetermined time period; in response to calculating the first energy intensity expenditure value, updating a characteristic of a visual indicia located on a display device, the characteristic comprising at least one of: color, size, or shape. 13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more sensors are embedded in the first device. 14. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: classifying a user activity during the second non-predetermined time period based on a calendar entry. 15. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: suggesting a set of classifications for a user activity during the second non-predetermined time period. 16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the suggesting is based on at least one of an environmental attribute or a user attribute. 17. An apparatus comprising: a processor; memory storing instructions, that when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to perform at least: automatically initiating a first time clock for measuring, by a first device worn by a first user, athletic activity during a first predetermined duration of time; receiving movement data from one or more sensors of the first device during the first predetermined duration of time; calculating an energy expenditure value for the first user for the first predetermined duration of time; initiating a second time clock for measuring athletic activity during a second duration of time that is within the first predetermined duration of time; initiating a session for the first user based on second movement data received from the one or more sensors of the first device during the second duration of time; receiving locational data for the first user during the second duration of time; determining that the session is associated with a first activity type based on the locational data for the first user; receiving, from a second device associated with the first user, additional data, determining, based on an analysis of the additional data received from the second device associated with the first user, that the first user has remained stationary; and responsive to determining, based on the additional data received from the second device associated with the first user, that the first user has remained stationary, pausing the session. 18. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein calculating the energy expenditure value during the first predetermined duration of time comprises using movement data received from the one or more sensors. 19. The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein calculating the energy expenditure values during the second duration of time comprises using second movement data received from the one or more sensors. 20. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to: automatically initiate a first time clock for measuring, by a first device worn by a first user, athletic activity during a first predetermined time period; receive movement data from one or more sensors of the first device during the first predetermined time period; initiate calculation of an energy expenditure value for the first user for the first predetermined time period based on at least
