Provided is a binder composition for secondary battery electrode-use that has high binding capacity, and that is capable of suppressing corrosion of a current collector and an increase in internal resistance when used in production of a secondary battery. The binder composition for secondary battery electrode-use contains a copolymer and a dispersion medium. The copolymer includes at least 5 mass % and no greater than 80 mass % of a constitutional unit represented by formula (I) and at least 5 mass % and no greater than 90 mass % of a constitutional unit represented by formula (II).

The invention claimed is: 1. A binder composition for secondary battery electrode-use comprising: a copolymer; and a dispersion medium, wherein the copolymer includes at least 5 mass % and no greater than 80 mass % of a constitutional unit represented by formula (I) shown below where, in formula (I), R 1 represents hydrogen or a monovalent organic group, R 2 , R 3 , and R 4 each represent, independently of one another, hydrogen or a monovalent organic group, X represents a hydrocarbon chain, and A − represents a monovalent anion selected from the group consisting of a bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide anion, a bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide anion, a perfluoroalkanesulfonate anion, and a monoalkyl sulfate anion, the copolymer includes at least 5 mass % and no greater than 90 mass % of a constitutional unit represented by formula (II) shown below where, in formula (II), R 5 represents hydrogen, a methyl group, or a halogen atom, and the copolymer includes no greater than 20 mass % of a constitutional unit represented by formula (III) shown below where, in formula (III), R 6 represents hydrogen or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, and R 7 and R 8 each represent, independently of one another, hydrogen or a group selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group. 2. The binder composition for secondary battery electrode-use of claim 1 , wherein R 1 is a methyl group, R 2 , R 3 , and R 4 are each a methyl group or an ethyl group, X is an ethylene group, and A − is a monovalent anion selected from the group consisting of a bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide anion, a trifluoromethanesulfonate anion, and a monomethyl sulfate anion. 3. A slurry composition for secondary battery electrode-use comprising: the binder composition for secondary battery electrode-use of claim 1 ; and an electrode active material. 4. The slurry composition for secondary battery electrode-use of claim 3 , further comprising a polymer other than the copolymer. 5. The slurry composition for secondary battery electrode-use of claim 4 , wherein the polymer other than the copolymer is a fluorine-containing polymer. 6. An electrode for secondary battery-use obtainable by applying the slurry composition for secondary battery electrode-use of claim 3 onto a current collector and drying the slurry composition for secondary battery electrode-use that has been applied onto the current collector. 7. A secondary battery comprising: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; an electrolysis solution; and a separator, wherein either or both of the positive electrode and the negative electrode are the electrode for secondary battery-use of claim 6 .
