An agricultural baler has a shaft, a flywheel connected to the shaft, and a disc brake system including a brake disc with a toothed rim for engaging with an auxiliary motor. The brake disc may be directly mounted on the flywheel. The baler may have a brake controller for controlling the disc brake system, and a motor controller for controlling the auxiliary motor, or an integrated baler controller for controlling both. The auxiliary motor may be arranged for rotating the flywheel forward or backwards.

The invention claimed is: 1. An agricultural baler comprising: a shaft for coupling with a power take-off; a flywheel connected to the shaft; a plunger coupled to the flywheel; a disc brake system comprising a brake disc spaced from the flywheel, wherein the brake disc configured to contact the shaft and adapted for braking the flywheel, the brake disc having a toothed rim, and an auxiliary motor configured for engagement with the toothed rim of the brake disc. 2. The agricultural baler according to claim 1 , wherein the toothed rim of the brake disc is a toothed outer rim. 3. The agricultural baler according to claim 1 , wherein the auxiliary motor is adapted for helping to accelerate the flywheel during baler start-up. 4. The agricultural baler according to claim 1 , wherein the auxiliary motor is adapted for rotating the flywheel backward. 5. The agricultural baler according to claim 1 , wherein the brake disc is mounted on a side of the flywheel. 6. The agricultural baler according to claim 1 , wherein a centre of mass of the brake disc coincides in a vertical plane with a centre of mass of the flywheel. 7. An agricultural baler comprising: a shaft for coupling with a power take-off; a flywheel connected to the shaft; a plunger coupled to the flywheel; a disc brake system comprising a brake disc adapted for braking the flywheel, the brake disc having a toothed rim; an auxiliary motor configured for engagement with the toothed rim of the brake disc; and wherein the baler further comprises a gearbox and the disc brake system further comprises at least one brake caliper, and wherein the brake caliper is mounted to the gearbox. 8. The agricultural baler according to claim 7 , further comprising a handle connected to the at least one brake caliper via a cable. 9. The agricultural baler according to claim 7 , wherein the at least one brake caliper is a hydraulic caliper, and a hydraulic circuit is fluidly connected to the brake caliper wherein a baler controller is configured for activating and deactivating the hydraulic brake caliper. 10. The agricultural baler according to claim 1 , wherein the auxiliary motor is adapted for rotating said flywheel depending on at least one control signal. 11. A baler drive assembly comprising: a baler flywheel assembly comprising a flywheel and a brake disc adapted for braking the flywheel, the brake disc having a toothed rim; the baler drive assembly further comprising a baler gearbox and a brake caliper mounted to the baler gearbox that is configured for engagement with the brake disc of the baler flywheel assembly, wherein the baler flywheel assembly is mounted to the baler gearbox. 12. The agricultural baler according to claim 1 in combination with a tractor, wherein the tractor comprises a PTO connectable to the shaft of the baler for accelerating the flywheel of the baler, and wherein the tractor further comprises a tractor controller circuit for sending a command to a baler controller of the agriculture baler for selectively activating at least one of the disc brake system and the auxiliary motor.
