Official abstract text for this publication.
A power tool includes a housing, a motor, an output member driven by the motor, and a reaming attachment coupled to the output member. The reaming attachment has a front end portion selectively driven in rotation by the output member to drive a fastener into a workpiece, and a reaming portion selectively driven in rotation by the output member to remove material from an end surface of a conduit. A rotational motion sensor in the housing is operable to detect rotational motion of the housing about an axis. A controller receives a signal indicative of rotational motion from the sensor, determines a direction of the rotational motion of the housing, and drives the motor in a direction corresponding to the direction of rotational motion of the housing.

What is claimed is: 1. A power tool comprising: a housing; a motor contained in the housing; an output member at least partially received in the housing and configured to be driven by the motor to rotate about a longitudinal axis; a reaming attachment having a front end portion configured to be selectively driven in rotation by the output member to drive a fastener into a workpiece, and a reaming portion configured to be selectively driven in rotation by the output member, the reaming portion carrying a blade configured to remove material from an end surface of a conduit, wherein the reaming portion is selectively moveable relative to the blade to selectively expose the blade from the reaming portion; and a controller operable to drive the motor according to a sensed rotational motion of the housing about the longitudinal axis. 2. The power tool of claim 1 , wherein the reaming portion comprises a stepped body defining an axial slot, with the blade being received in the slot. 3. The power tool of claim 2 , wherein the stepped body comprises a plurality of cylindrical surfaces that increase in diameter from a front end to a rear end of the stepped body, and a plurality of frustroconical surfaces connecting adjacent cylindrical surfaces. 4. The power tool of claim 2 , wherein the stepped body is retractable to expose a cutting surface of the blade. 5. The power tool of claim 1 , wherein the blade has at least one hook-shaped cutting surface. 6. The power tool of claim 1 , wherein the reaming portion comprises a stepped body defining an axial slot, and a blade received in the slot, wherein the stepped body portion is axially moveable to selectively release the bit from the reaming portion. 7. The power tool of claim 1 , wherein the front end portion comprises bit retention mechanism configured to releasably retain a bit in the front end portion. 8. The power tool of claim 7 , wherein the reaming portion is selectively moveable to selectively release the bit from the front end portion. 9. The power tool of claim 1 , further comprising a clutch selectively moveable between a first position wherein rotary motion is transmitted from the output member to the first end portion but not to the reaming portion, and a second position wherein rotary motion is transmitted from the output member to the reaming portion but not to the front end portion. 10. The power tool of claim 9 , further comprising a switch configured to move the clutch between the first and second positions. 11. The power tool of claim 10 , wherein the clutch is coupled to the reaming attachment so that applying axial bias to the reaming attachment moves the clutch from the first position to the second position. 12. The power tool of claim 10 , wherein the clutch comprises a grounding ring that grounds a first transmission member when in the first position to cause rotary motion to be transmitted to the front end portion, and that grounds a second transmission member when in the second position to cause rotary motion to be transmitted to the reaming portion. 13. The power tool of claim 1 , further comprising a rotational motion sensor disposed in the housing an operable to detect the sensed rotational motion of the housing about the longitudinal axis. 14. The power tool of claim 13 , wherein the rotational motion sensor is operable to communicate to the controller the sensed rotational motion of the housing about the longitudinal axis. 15. The power tool of claim 13 , wherein the controller is operable to control a direction and magnitude of rotational motion of the motor corresponding to a direction and magnitude of the sensed rotational motion of the housing about the longitudinal axis.
