Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Systems and methods are described for generating a treatment map based on a microbe profile, which include receiving a two-dimensional microbe profile of a skin surface of an individual, selecting one or more treatment agents from a database of treatment agents, generating the treatment map by mapping the selected one or more treatment agents to each of one or more corresponding locations on the two-dimensional microbe profile of the skin surface of the individual, and reporting the treatment map to a user.

What is claimed is: 1. A system for generating a treatment map, comprising: a digital two-dimensional microbe profile of a skin surface of an individual's face the digital two-dimensional microbe profile including a two-dimensional spatial distribution, relative abundance, and identity of one or more types of microbes at each of one or more locations on the skin surface of the individual's face overlaid with a feature map of the skin surface of the individual's face; a database of treatment agents; a computing device including a processor and circuitry, the circuitry including circuitry configured to receive the digital two-dimensional microbe profile of the skin surface of the individual's face; circuitry configured to select one or more treatment agents from the database of treatment agents based on the two-dimensional spatial distribution, the relative abundance, and the identity of the one or more types of microbes at each of the one or more locations on the skin surface of the individual's face; circuitry configured to map the one or more treatment agents selected to treat at least one of the one or more types of microbes at each of the one or more locations on the skin surface of the individual's face to each of one or more corresponding locations on the feature map associated with the digital two-dimensional microbe profile; circuitry configured to generate a personalized treatment map including a two-dimensional spatial distribution of the one or more treatment agents selected for application at each of the one or more locations on the skin surface of the individual's face overlaid with the feature map of the skin surface of the individual's face; and circuitry configured to report the generated personalized treatment map to a user. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the circuitry configured to receive the digital two-dimensional microbe profile comprises circuitry configured to receive the digital two-dimensional microbe profile from a microbe profiling device. 3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the feature map of the skin surface of the individual's face includes at least one of an image map, a fiducial marker map, or a coordinate map of the skin surface of the individual's face. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the circuitry configured to select the one or more treatment agents from the database of treatment agents comprises circuitry configured to select at least one of one or more probiotics, one or more prebiotics, or one or more of an antimicrobial agent, a therapeutic agent, or a chemotherapeutic agent from the database of treatment agents based on the two-dimensional spatial distribution, the relative abundance, and the identity of the one or more types of microbes at each of the one or more locations on the skin surface of the individual's face. 5. The system of claim 1 , further comprising: circuitry configured to compare the selected one or more treatment agents with a second database of treatment agents identified as compatible or non-compatible with the individual's face to determine if the selected one or more treatment agents is compatible or non-compatible with the individual's face. 6. The system of claim 1 , further comprising: circuitry configured to add a name, a dose, and a dosing schedule of each of the selected one or more treatment agents at each of the one or more corresponding locations on the feature map associated with the digital two-dimensional microbe profile. 7. The system of claim 1 , further comprising: circuitry configured to incorporate at least one of a spatial or a temporal delivery route into the personalized treatment map based upon a correlation between microbe profiles at each of one or more different locations and the selected one or more treatment agents for delivery at each of said one or more different locations. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the circuitry configured to report the generated personalized treatment map to the user comprises circuitry configured to report the generated personalized treatment map to the user on at least one of a display, a printout, or a second computing device. 9. The system of claim 1 , further comprising: circuitry configured to transmit information associated with the generated personalized treatment map to at least one of a remote source, a second computing device, a skin-treatment delivery device, or a skin-treatment delivery system. 10. The system of claim 1 , further comprising: a skin treatment delivery device including one or more location-capture components including circuitry configured to measure a feature of a location on the skin surface of the individual's face; a treatment unit including one or more treatment agent reservoirs, each of the one or more treatment agent reservoirs including a controllable valve; wherein the computing device is operably coupled to the one or more location-capture components and the controllable valve of each of the one or more treatment agent reservoirs of the skin treatment delivery device, and wherein the computing device includes circuitry configured to receive information associated with the measured feature of the location on the skin surface of the individual's face from the one or more location-capture components; circuitry configured to map the received information associated with the measured feature of the location on the skin surface of the individual's face to the feature map of the skin surface of the individual's face associated with the personalized treatment map; circuitry configured to identify at least one of the one or more treatment agents from the personalized treatment map for application at said location on the skin surface of the individual's face based on the mapping of the measured feature to the feature map of the skin surface of the individual's face; and circuitry configured to actuate the controllable valve of at least one of the one or more treatment agent reservoirs to modulate release of the identified at least one of the one or more treatment agents for application at said location on the skin surface of the individual's face. 11.
