Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The disclosure is directed to content sharing. An aspect defines a filter having at least one parameter for receiving content and detects a content device. The content device is a peer device with sharable content. The aspect further queries the content device for desired content from the sharable content and receives the desired content from the content device. The desired content matches the at least one parameter.

What is claimed is: 1. A method for content sharing, comprising: defining, at a user device, one or more parameters for receiving sharable content from another device; receiving, at the user device, a notification from a content device indicating that the content device has sharable content, wherein the content device is a client device; sending, by the user device, a request including the one or more parameters to the content device to identify desired content from the sharable content, the request including an indication of an identification of one or more users; and receiving, at the user device, the desired content from the content device, wherein the desired content matches the one or more parameters and includes an image of at least one of the one or more users. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more parameters are stored on the user device that received the desired content prior to receiving the notification. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein, in response to receiving the one or more parameters, the content device: accesses a first content on the content device; compares the first content to the one or more parameters; and transmits the first content as the desired content based on the first content matching the one or more parameters. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: establishing a peer-to-peer connection between the content device and the user device that receives the desired content. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: establishing a connection to a server that arbitrates between the content device and the user device that receives the desired content. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the content device: stores the one or more parameters on the content device; and prompts a user of the content device to obtain content for sharing based on the one or more parameters. 7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the content device matches at least one of the one or more parameters to a current activity of the content device. 8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the sharable content includes a picture or a frame of a video, the at least one of the one or more parameters identifies an object of interest, and the current activity of the content device is capturing the picture or the frame of the video near the object of interest. 9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the object of interest includes at least one of the one or more users. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the receiving comprises receiving the notification from the content device in response to the content device joining a wireless network to which the user device receiving the notification belongs. 11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the content device sends the notification in response to a user action at the content device. 12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the user action is activating a shutter action of a camera of the content device. 13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the content device sends the notification in response to an amount of time since the sharable content was captured being greater than a threshold. 14. The method of claim 1 , wherein a user of the content device defines a second set of one or more parameters having at least one parameter for sharing the sharable content. 15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the content device shares the sharable content based on the second set of one or more parameters. 16. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more parameters include the indication of the identification. 17. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more users include a user of the user device. 18. The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication of the identification of the one or more users includes an image of at least one of the one or more users. 19. An apparatus for content sharing, comprising: at least one processor of a user device configured to: define one or more parameters for reception of sharable content from another device; receive a notification from a content device indicating that the content device has sharable content, wherein the content device is a client device; send a request including the one or more parameters to the content device to identify desired content from the sharable content, the request including an indication of an identification of one or more users; and receive the desired content from the content device, wherein the desired content matches the one or more parameters and includes an image of at least one of the one or more users. 20. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the one or more parameters are stored on the user device prior to reception of the notification. 21. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein, in response to reception of the one or more parameters, the content device: accesses a first content on the content device; compares the first content to the one or more parameters; and transmits the first content as the desired content based on the first content matching the one or more parameters. 22. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to: establish a peer-to-peer connection between the content device and the user device. 23. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to: establish a connection to a server that arbitrates between the content device and the user device. 24. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the content device: stores the one or more parameters on the content device; and prompts a user of the content device to obtain content for sharing based on the one or more parameters. 25. The apparatus of claim 24 , wherein the content device matches at least one of the one or more parameters to a current activity of the content device. 26. The apparatus of claim 25 , wherein the sharable content includes a picture or a frame of a video, the at least one of the one or more parameters identifies an object of interest, and the current activity of the content device is capturing the picture or the frame of the video near the object of interest. 27. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the at least one processor being configured to receive the notification comprises the at least one processor being configured to receive the notification from the content device in response to the content device having joined a wireless network to which the user device belongs. 28. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the content device sends the notification in response to a user action at the content device. 29. The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein the user action is activation of a shutter action of a camera of the content device. 30. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the content device sends the notification in response to an amount of time since the sharable content was captured being greater than a threshold. 31. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein a user of the content device defines a second set of one or more parameters having at least one parameter for sharing the sharable content. 32. The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the content device shares the sharable content based on the second set of one or more parameters. 33. The apparatus of claim 26 , wherein the object of interest includes at least one of the one or more users. 34. The apparatus of clai
