A centrifuge device is provided for the sizing and separation of constituents of a biologic mixture, e.g., adipose tissue. The device provides for the mechanical breaking down of the fibrous structure in the tissue by centrifugation causing the tissue to pass through a mesh element, or a sizing helix, or an extrusion element, whereupon the material is reduced to a slurry. This processed material may then be separated by centrifugation into its constituents, in order to harvest the fraction containing the multipotent cells. These multipotent cells may be utilized for various medical procedures to stimulate healing and tissue regeneration.

What is claimed is: 1. A centrifuge for morselizing a biologic mixture and selectively concentrating at least one constituent of the biologic mixture, said centrifuge comprising a chamber configured to contain a sample of a biologic mixture and having a central longitudinal axis about which said chamber is arranged to be rotated, said chamber comprising: a. a sidewall having a tapered inner surface, b. a base, c. an annular screen configured to morselize a biologic mixture, said annular screen having an inner surface and being located at a first radial distance from said central longitudinal axis, said annular screen projecting away from said base, and d. a roller arranged to roll against and around the inner surface of the annular screen and urge at least a portion of a biologic mixture through the annular screen and away from said central longitudinal axis and towards the sidewall. 2. The centrifuge of claim 1 further comprising a first port having an inlet at a second radial distance from said longitudinal axis, wherein the first port is selectively openable to allow the discharge of at least a portion of a constituent from the chamber. 3. The centrifuge of claim 2 , wherein the base further comprises a wedge element extending from said base into the interior of the chamber and having a wedge end at a third radial distance from said central longitudinal axis. 4. The centrifuge of claim 3 , wherein the chamber further comprises a trap, said trap being located in said chamber adjacent said inner surface of said sidewall, and said chamber further comprises a second port having an inlet at a fourth radial distance from said longitudinal axis, and said inlet for said first port is located within said trap. 5. The centrifuge of claim 4 , wherein said first radial distance is less than said fourth radial distance, and said fourth radial distance is less than said third radial distance, and said third radial distance is less than said second radial distance. 6. The centrifuge of claim 1 wherein the chamber additionally comprises at least one roller axle extending parallel to said central longitudinal axis, said roller being arranged to spin about said at least one roller axle to roll around said inner surface of said annular screen. 7. The centrifuge of claim 6 wherein said at least one roller axle is held stationery relative to said chamber. 8. The centrifuge of claim 1 , wherein when a biologic mixture is present in the chamber, said rotation of said chamber causes the constituents of the biologic mixture to stratify into concentric stratified constituent layers as a function of differing specific gravities of the constituents, such that a first constituent layer becomes located against a portion of the periphery of said inner surface of said sidewall. 9. The centrifuge of claim 1 wherein said annular screen is a perforated material selected from the group consisting of wire mesh screen, polymer mesh screen, perforated metal tubing and perforated polymer tubing. 10. The centrifuge of claim 4 additionally comprising at least one port and a valve for selectively ejecting at least a portion of at least one of said constituent layers from said trap. 11. The centrifuge of claim 1 , wherein the annular screen comprises plural openings in the range of approximately 0.04 inches to approximately 0.002 inches. 12. The centrifuge of claim 7 , wherein the annular screen rotates at the same speed as the chamber. 13. The centrifuge of claim 1 , further comprising a secondary screen, the secondary screen being located at a fifth radial distance from the longitudinal axis, wherein the fifth radial distance is greater than the first radial distance, and wherein the secondary screen has a smaller opening size than the annular screen. 14. The centrifuge of claim 13 , wherein the secondary screen is configured to capture fibrous material while allowing non-fibrous material and liquid to pass through. 15. The centrifuge of claim 13 , wherein the annular screen, secondary screen, and the chamber rotate at the same speed. 16. The centrifuge of claim 13 , wherein the secondary screen is a secondary annular screen. 17. The centrifuge of claim 5 , further comprising a secondary screen, the secondary screen being located at a fifth radial distance from the longitudinal axis, wherein the fifth radial distance is greater than the first radial distance, and wherein the secondary screen has a smaller opening size than the annular screen. 18. The centrifuge of claim 7 , further comprising a secondary annular screen, the secondary annular screen being located at a fifth radial distance from the longitudinal axis, wherein the fifth radial distance is greater than the first radial distance, and wherein the secondary annular screen has a smaller opening size than the annular screen and the secondary annular screen is configured to capture fibrous material while allowing non-fibrous material and liquid to pass through. 19. The centrifuge of claim 2 , wherein the chamber additionally comprises at least one roller axle extending parallel to said central longitudinal axis, said roller being arranged to spin about said at least one roller axle to roll around said inner surface of said annular screen. 20. The centrifuge of claim 19 , wherein said at least one roller axle is held stationery relative to said chamber. 21. The centrifuge of claim 20 , further comprising a secondary annular screen, the secondary annular screen being located at a fifth radial distance from the longitudinal axis, wherein the fifth radial distance is greater than the first radial distance, and wherein the secondary annular screen has a smaller opening size than the annular screen. 22. The centrifuge of claim 21 , wherein the secondary annular screen is configured to capture fibrous material while allowing non-fibrous material and liquid to pass through. 23. The centrifuge of claim 1 , further comprising an end cap on the chamber and a stationary tube that extends through the end cap, wherein the stationary tube is configured for directing said biologic mixture into said inner chamber. 24.
