An electronic cigarette includes a liquid supply including liquid material, a heater operable to heat the liquid material to a temperature sufficient to vaporize the liquid material and form an aerosol, a wick in communication with the liquid material and in communication with the heater such that the wick delivers the liquid material to the heater, at least one air inlet operable to deliver air to a central air passage upstream of the heater, and a mouth end insert having at least two diverging outlets. The electronic cigarette can also include an air flow diverter which directs incoming air away from a heating zone of the heater.

We claim: 1. An electronic vaping device comprising: an outer tube extending in a longitudinal direction; a seal in the outer tube, the seal defining a central air passage; a liquid supply in the outer tube, the liquid supply configured to contain a liquid material; a mouth-end insert including, at least two outlets; and a heater between the seal and the mouth-end insert; an air flow diverter including, an impervious plug in the seal, the impervious plug sealing a first end of the central air passage, the air flow diverter further including, at least one radial air channel extending from the central air passage to an outer longitudinal air passage at least partially surrounding the seal, the air flow diverter configured to direct air flow away from at least a portion of the heater. 2. The electronic vaping device of claim 1 , further comprising: an inner tube in the outer tube, the inner tube defining an interior portion, the interior portion in communication with the central air passage of the seal, the heater in the interior portion of the inner tube; a wick in communication with the liquid supply and in communication with the heater; a power supply configured to selectively supply power to the heater; and at least one air inlet extending through the outer tube, the at least one air inlet in communication with the central air passage and the interior portion of the inner tube. 3. The electronic vaping device of claim 2 , wherein the mouth-end insert is in fluid communication with the central air passage via the interior portion of the inner tube. 4. The electronic vaping device of claim 2 , wherein the power supply includes a battery. 5. The electronic vaping device of claim 1 , wherein the heater is a wire coil. 6. The electronic vaping device of claim 5 , wherein the heater is formed of at least one of stainless steel, copper, a copper alloy, a nickel-chromium alloy, an iron aluminum alloy, an iron chromium alloy, a super alloy, an iron aluminide, and a nickel aluminide. 7. The electronic vaping device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one radial air channel has about a same diameter as the central air passage. 8. The electronic vaping device of claim 1 , wherein the at least two outlets of the mouth-end insert are diverging outlets, the diverging outlets angled at about 5° to about 60° in relation to the longitudinal direction of the electronic vaping device. 9. An electronic vaping device comprising: an outer tube extending in a longitudinal direction; a liquid supply in the outer tube, the liquid supply configured to contain a liquid material; a heater configured to vaporize the liquid material; and an air flow diverter including, a disc having at least one orifice therein, the disc having a dome-shaped inner surface, the disc configured to divert air flow away from at least a portion of the heater. 10. The electronic vaping device of claim 9 , wherein the disc includes an outer tubular wall. 11. The electronic vaping device of claim 9 , wherein the disc is formed of at least one of plastic, paperboard, polymers, and foamed paper. 12. The electronic vaping device of claim 9 , wherein the disc includes an outer tubular wall and the at least one orifice extends at an angle to the longitudinal direction.
