A display device is provided, which includes a jog switch which performs a moving operation in a plurality of directions and a push operation, a display unit which displays a first user interface (UI) for adjusting a channel or a volume of the display device or a second UI for adjusting other functions of the display device in accordance with a first operation of the jog switch, and a control unit which adjusts a selected function of the display device in accordance with a second operation of the jog switch in which is performed in a state where the first UI or the second UI is displayed. The jog switch is formed to project for a predetermine height from a surface of the display device, and thus a user can find the jog switch easily and promptly even is the jog switch is obstructed from view.

What is claimed is: 1. A television apparatus comprising: a housing; a display panel disposed at a first side of the housing, the first side of the housing corresponding to a front side of the television apparatus; a multi-directional switch disposed on a second side of the housing different from the first side, the multi-directional switch being configured to receive user inputs in a plurality of movable directions, wherein the second side of the housing corresponds to a lateral side or a back side of the television apparatus; and a controller configured to: control the display panel to display content corresponding to a television broadcast channel selected via the multi-directional switch, control the display panel to display a first graphical user interface (GUI) in response to receiving a first user input moving the multi-directional switch in a first direction, and change the television broadcast channel being displayed based on the first user input inputted via the multi-directional switch while the first GUI is displayed on the display panel, wherein the controller is configured to control the display panel to display a second GUI in response to receiving a second user input moving the multi-directional switch in a second direction, orthogonal to the first direction, and to change a volume based on the second user input inputted via the multi-directional switch while the second GUI is displayed on the display panel, and wherein the controller is further configured to turn on the television apparatus based on the multi-directional switch being pushed. 2. The television apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second side of the housing is the back side of the television apparatus. 3. The television apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second side of the housing is the lateral side of the television apparatus. 4. The television apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the multi-directional switch is a jog switch. 5. The television apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the controller is configured to control the display panel to display a third GUI for performing a function other than adjusting the television broadcast channel and the volume based on the multi-directional switch being pushed while a power of the television apparatus is on. 6. The television apparatus of claim 5 , wherein at least one of the first GUI, the second GUI and the third GUI comprises a plurality of areas, each of the plurality of areas corresponding to one of the plurality of movable directions of the multi-directional switch. 7. The television apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the third GUI comprises a plurality of areas corresponding to one of the plurality of movable directions of the multi-directional switch. 8. The television apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the multi-directional switch is rotatable around an axis that is orthogonal to the second side of the housing. 9. A television comprising: a housing; a display panel disposed at a first side of the housing, the first side of the housing corresponding to a front side of the television; a multi-directional jog switch mounted to the television and disposed to protrude from a second side of the housing, the multi-directional jog switch configured to receive a plurality of user inputs corresponding to a plurality of movable directions of the multi-directional jog switch, the second side of the housing corresponding to a lateral side or a back side of the television; and a controller configured to: in response to a first user input being received via the multi-directional jog switch while content corresponding to a television channel is displayed on the display panel, control the display panel to display an on-screen display (OSD) menu superimposed on the content corresponding to the television channel displayed on the display panel, the OSD menu indicating a channel number of the television channel, in response to a second user input being received via the multi-directional jog switch while the OSD menu is superimposed on the content corresponding to the television channel displayed on the display panel, control the display panel to change the television channel to a next or previous television channel, wherein the first user input corresponds to a first movable direction among the plurality of movable directions, wherein the second user input corresponds to a second movable direction among the plurality of movable directions, and wherein the controller is further configured to turn on the television based on the multi-directional jog switch being pushed. 10. The television of claim 9 , wherein the OSD menu further indicates a volume level of the television, and wherein the controller is further configured to: in response to a third user input being received via the multi-directional jog switch while the OSD menu is superimposed on the content of the television channel displayed on the display panel, change the volume level of the television to a next volume level, wherein the third user input corresponding to a third movable direction among the plurality of movable directions different from the second movable direction. 11. The television of claim 10 , wherein the housing is further configured to support the display panel, and wherein the multi-directional jog switch is mounted to the housing. 12. The television of claim 11 , wherein the second side of the housing is the lateral side of the television that is substantially orthogonal to a viewing surface of the display panel. 13. The television of claim 11 , wherein the second side of the housing is the back side of the television that is on an opposite side of a viewing surface of the display panel. 14. The television of claim 9 , wherein the controller is configured to control the display panel to display an OSD menu for performing a function other than adjusting the television broadcast channel and the volume based on the multi-directional jog switch being pushed while a power of the television apparatus is on. 15. The television of claim 14 , wherein the OSD menu comprises a plurality of areas, each of the plurality of areas corresponding to one of the plurality of movable directions of the multi-directional jog switch. 16.
