The invention claimed is: 1. A container comprising a base; and a lid, wherein the lid comprises a first plurality of abutment projections spaced apart circumferentially on an inside surface of the lid configured to contact an upwardly facing abutment surface of a side wall of the base when the base and the lid are arranged parallel to each other and pressed together to form a closed container, and wherein the lid further comprises a second plurality of abutment projections spaced apart circumferentially on an inside surface of the lid and configured to contact an upwardly facing abutment of the side wall of the base when the base and the lid are arranged inclined to each other and pressed together. 2. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of abutment projections is configured to contact the upwardly facing abutment surface of the side wall of the base when the base and the lid are inclined in the range of 2 degrees to 45 degrees in relation to each other. 3. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of abutment projections is configured to contact the upwardly facing abutment surface of the side wall of the base when the base and the lid are inclined in the range of 5 degrees to 40 degrees in relation to each other. 4. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of abutment projections is configured to contact the upwardly facing abutment surface of the side wall of the base when the base and the lid are inclined in the range of 10 degrees to 35 degrees in relation to each other. 5. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the lid further comprises an outer skirt configured to enclose an upper portion of the side wall of the base when the base and the lid are pressed together to form a closed container. 6. The container according to claim 5 , wherein the first plurality of abutment projections is formed integrally with the outer skirt of the lid. 7. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the lid further comprises a recessed area in an upper surface of the lid that is surrounded by a restriction wall, and wherein the second plurality of abutment projections are formed integrally with the restriction wall. 8. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the lid further comprises an upper wall, and wherein the second plurality of abutment projections are formed integrally with the upper wall. 9. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of abutment projections are offset in relation to the first plurality of abutment projections in a circumferential direction of the lid. 10. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of abutment projections are positioned outward from the center of the inside surface of the lid such that the outward ends of the abutment projections extend at least as far outward as the inward ends of the first plurality of abutment projections. 11. The container according to claim 10 , wherein the second plurality of abutment projections are positioned circumferentially from the center of the inside surface of the lid such that the outward ends of the second plurality of abutment projections extend past the inward ends of the first plurality of abutment projections. 12. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the first plurality of abutment projections are shaped as flat ribs that extend towards the center of the lid along a plane parallel to an upper surface of the lid. 13. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of abutment projections are shaped as flat ribs that extend towards an outer skirt of the lid along a plane parallel to an upper surface of the lid. 14. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the upper circumferential corner of the lid is rounded, and the first plurality of abutment projections are formed integrally with the inside of the rounded corner of the lid. 15. The container according to claim 1 , wherein one or both of an outer skirt of the lid and the side wall of the base is resilient, and a lid coupling portion located on the outer skirt of the lid is arranged to cooperate with a corresponding base coupling portion located on the side wall of the base by snap action. 16. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the lid and the first and second pluralities of abutment projections are manufactured in one piece by molding of plastic material. 17. The container according to claim 1 , wherein the lid additionally comprises an upper wall and at least two depressions spaced apart along the circumference of the upper wall, wherein the depressions are configured such that a downwardly facing surface of a bottom of the depressions contacts an upwardly facing abutment surface of the side wall of the base when the base and lid are pressed together to form a closed container.
