An electronic cigarette includes a liquid supply including liquid material, a heater operable to heat the liquid material to a temperature sufficient to vaporize the liquid material and form an aerosol, a wick in communication with the liquid material and in communication with the heater such that the wick delivers the liquid material to the heater, at least one air inlet operable to deliver air to a central air passage upstream of the heater, and a mouth end insert having at least two diverging outlets. The electronic cigarette can also include an air flow diverter which directs incoming air away from a heating zone of the heater.

We claim: 1. An electronic vaping article comprising: an outer casing extending in a longitudinal direction; a tank reservoir in the outer casing, the tank reservoir including, a discrete, hollow body configured to contain a liquid; a heater adjacent the tank reservoir, the heater configured to vaporize liquid supplied to the heater from the tank reservoir to produce a vapor; an air flow diverter comprising a diverter wall at least partially disposed about the heater, the diverter wall and the heater at a location along the tank reservoir; and a power supply electrically connected to the heater, the heater connected to the power supply by an electrical connection established at an electrical contact at a location along the diverter wall. 2. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , further comprising: a wick in communication with the tank reservoir and configured to deliver liquid material to the heater. 3. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , wherein the outer casing includes a transparent window superposed with the tank reservoir. 4. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , wherein: the heater comprises a coil extending in the longitudinal direction; and the air flow diverter comprises a cylinder coaxially disposed about the heater. 5. The electronic vaping article of claim 4 , wherein the air flow diverter further comprises: a cylinder portion having an orifice configured to facilitate release of vapor. 6. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , wherein the diverter wall comprises: a hole configured to facilitate release of vapor. 7. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , wherein the diverter wall is oriented substantially transverse to the outer casing. 8. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , wherein the diverter wall is oriented substantially longitudinal to the outer casing. 9. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , wherein: the heater comprises a first heater at a first location along the tank reservoir and a second heater at a second location along the tank reservoir; and the air flow diverter comprises first and second diverters at respective ones of the first and second locations. 10. The electronic vaping article of claim 9 , wherein the first and second locations are on opposite sides of the tank reservoir. 11. The electronic vaping article of claim 9 , wherein the first and second locations are spaced apart longitudinally, the tank reservoir being partitioned into a first upstream compartment and a second downstream compartment, the first heater communicating with the first upstream compartment, and the second heater communicating the said second downstream compartment. 12. The electronic vaping article of claim 2 , wherein the heater is connected to the power supply by an electrical connection established at an electrical contact at a location along a panel of the tank reservoir. 13. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , wherein the body of the tank reservoir is rectangular and comprises top and bottom panels configured to mate with an interior surface of the outer casing. 14. The electronic vaping article of claim 13 , wherein the top and bottom panels and the interior surface mate with a groove and a guide. 15. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , wherein the body of the tank reservoir has a truncated cylindrical shape and comprises an arcuate panel configured to conform with an interior surface of the outer casing. 16. The electronic vaping article of claim 2 , wherein the heater, the wick and the diverter wall are assembled as a unit, and the unit is attached to a panel of the tank reservoir. 17. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , wherein the diverter wall includes an opening for release of vapor, the diverter wall further including a hole configured to facilitate release of vapor. 18. The electronic vaping article of claim 9 , wherein the airflow diverter comprises: a first diverter wall extending substantially perpendicular from a first longitudinally extending wall of the tank reservoir, the first diverter wall extending at least partially around a perimeter of the first heater, the first diverter wall being sized and configured to at least partially shield the first heater from airflow, and the first diverter wall configured to at least partially divert airflow around the first heater. 19. The electronic vaping article of claim 18 , wherein the airflow diverter comprises: a second diverter wall extending substantially perpendicular from a second longitudinally extending wall of the tank reservoir, the second diverter wall extending at least partially around a perimeter of the second heater, the second diverter wall being sized and configured to at least partially shield the second heater from airflow, and the second diverter wall configured to at least partially divert airflow around the second heater during use. 20. The electronic vaping article of claim 1 , wherein the tank reservoir includes a top panel, a bottom panel, a first side panel, and a second side panel, and wherein the top panel includes a first groove and the bottom panel includes a second groove, the first groove and the second groove configured to mate with a first protrusion and a second protrusion extending from an inner surface of the outer casing so as to secure the tank reservoir within the outer casing. 21. The electronic vaping article of claim 18 , wherein the first diverter wall is formed of at least one of plastic, metal, and fiberglass. 22. The electronic vaping article of claim 19 , wherein the first heater and the second heater comprise heater coils which extend in the longitudinal direction. 23. The electronic vaping article of claim 19 , wherein the first heater and the second heater comprise heater coils which extend transverse to the longitudinal direction.
