Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A system and method for operating the same includes a language processing module generating a search request text signal and determining identified data from the search request text signal. A search module generates search results in response to the search request text signal. A dialog manager classifies the search request text signal into a response classification associated with a plurality of templates, selects a first template from the plurality of templates in response to the response classification and corrects search results in response to the identified data and the template to form a corrected response signal. A device receives and displays the corrected response signal.

What is claimed is: 1. A method comprising: generating a search request text signal at a device; communicating the search request text signal from the device to an electronic language processing module; generating search results in response to the search request text signal in an electronic search module; determining identified data from the search request text signal in the electronic language processing module; classifying the search request text signal into a response classification associated with a plurality of templates in a dialog manager; selecting a first template from the plurality of templates in response to the response classification at the dialog manager; correcting the search results in response to the identified data and the template to form a corrected response signal at the dialog manager; communicating the corrected response signal to the device; and displaying the corrected response signal at a display of the device. 2. The method as recited in claim 1 wherein generating the search request text signal comprises converting a search request audible signal into the search request text signal. 3. The method as recited in claim 2 wherein converting the search request audible signal into the search request text signal comprises converting the search request audible signal into search request text signal at a voice converter located remotely from a requesting device. 4. The method as recited in claim 1 wherein determining identified data comprises determining identified data from at least one selected from a title, sports team, credit, genre, channel time, channel date, time keyword, day, description, media type, media source, quality rating and content rating. 5. The method as recited in claim 1 wherein correcting the response signal comprises grammatically correcting the response signal. 6. The method as recited in claim 5 wherein grammatically correcting the response signal comprises forming a sentence as the corrected response signal. 7. The method as recited in claim 1 wherein displaying the response signal comprises visually displaying the corrected response signal. 8. The method as recited in claim 1 wherein displaying the response signal comprises audibly displaying the response signal. 9. The method as recited in claim 1 wherein displaying the response signal comprises visually and audibly displaying the response signal. 10. The method as recited in claim 1 further comprising prior to displaying, communicating the corrected response signal from a head end to a mobile device. 11. The method as recited in claim 1 further comprising prior to displaying, communicating the corrected response signal to a voice converter for converting the corrected response signal into a corrected audible signal. 12. The method as recited in claim 1 further comprising displaying the corrected response signal at a mobile device. 13. A system comprising: a device receiving an audible signal and communicating the audible signal to an electronic language processing module and a dialog manager through a network; said language processing module generating a search request text signal from the audible signal and determining identified data from the search request text signal, said language processing module communicating the search request text signal to an electronic search module and communicates the search request text to an electronic dialog signal manager; said electronic search module generating search results in response to the search request text signal; said electronic dialog manager classifying the search request text signal into a response classification associated with a plurality of templates, selecting a first template from the plurality of templates in response to the response classification and correcting search results in response to the identified data and the template to form a corrected response signal, said dialog manager communicating the corrected response signal to said device through the network; and said device receiving and displaying the corrected response signal. 14. The system as recited in claim 13 wherein the electronic language processing module generates the search request text signal from a search request audible signal. 15. The system as recited in claim 14 wherein the electronic language processing module comprises a voice converter converting the search request audible signal into the search request text signal. 16. The system as recited in claim 15 wherein the device comprises a requesting device generating a search request signal and communicating the search request signal to the voice converter located remotely from the requesting device. 17. The system as recited in claim 16 wherein the voice converter generates the search request text signal from an electrical signal corresponding to the search request signal. 18. The system as recited in claim 13 wherein the identified data comprises at least one selected from a title, sports team, credit, genre, channel time, channel date, time keyword, day, description, media type, media source, quality rating and content rating. 19. The system as recited in claim 13 wherein the response signal comprises a grammatically corrected response signal. 20. The system as recited in claim 19 wherein the grammatically corrected response signal comprises a sentence. 21. The system as recited in claim 13 wherein the device visually displays the response signal. 22. The system as recited in claim 13 wherein the device audibly displays the response signal. 23. The system as recited in claim 13 wherein the device audibly and visually displays the response signal. 24. The system as recited in claim 13 further comprising a head end communicating the corrected response signal to the device through the network. 25. The system as recited in claim 24 wherein the device comprises a mobile device. 26. The system as recited in claim 13 further comprising a voice converter converting the corrected response signal into a corrected audible signal.
