A system for introducing live content into an electronic mail message comprising at least one dynamic live content area sent through an e-mail service provider system comprises memory and a click manager. The memory includes live content comprising image data and expiration data. The click manager receives an indication of the opening of the message by a recipient, wherein the click manager accesses the memory to retrieve live content and send the retrieved live content for rendering in the dynamic live content area of the e-mail message opened by the one of the plurality of recipients.

What is claimed is: 1. A system for introducing live content into an electronic mail message comprising at least one dynamic live content area sent through an e-mail service provider system, the system comprising: memory including live content comprising image data and expiration data; a sever configured to: receive the electronic mail messages; identify a plurality of recipients, each of the plurality of recipients having at least one attribute associated therewith; and send the e-mail message to the plurality of recipients associate at least one attribute about each recipient with the dynamic live content area; and a click manager that receives an indication of the opening of the message by a recipient, wherein the click manager accesses the memory to retrieve live content, wherein the live content is associated with expiration data that is indicative of a number of times the live content is to be retrieved, and send the retrieved live content for rendering in the dynamic live content area of the email message opened by the one of the plurality of recipients, wherein a default live content is retrieved and sent for rendering in the dynamic live content area of the email message opened by the one of the plurality of recipients in the event that the indication of the opening of the message by the recipient is received after the live content has been retrieved more than the number of times. 2. The system of claim 1 wherein the click manager counts events relating to a plurality of electronic messages sent to a plurality of recipients. 3. The system of claim 2 wherein the click manager receives an indication of an event relating to the electronic mail message and the event is logged in memory. 4. The system of claim 1 wherein the click manager considers currency data in determining which live content to send. 5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the system starts sending a second live content once the total number of events meets or exceeds the predetermined number. 6. The system of claim 4 , wherein the event is a click on the live content or other feature contained in the electronic mail message. 7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the first click is the only event tabulate for a given recipient. 8. The system of claim 4 , wherein the event is opening the electronic mail message. 9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the first opening of the electronic mail message is the only event tabulate for a given recipient. 10. The system of claim 1 , further configured to communicate with an e-mail client to which an e-mail message including a live content area has been sent to determine when the sent e-mail has been opened and to send live content requested by the client that opened the email. 11. A method for introducing live content into an electronic mail message comprising at least one dynamic live content area sent through an e-mail service provider system, the method comprising: receiving, at a computerized email processing system, the electronic mail messages; identifying a plurality of recipients, each of the plurality of recipients having at least one attribute associated therewith; sending the e-mail message to the plurality of recipients, associating at least one attribute about each recipient with the dynamic live content area; receiving an indication of the opening of the message by a recipient; accessing a computer-readable memory to retrieve live content, wherein the live content is associated with expiration data that is indicative of a number of times the live content is to be retrieved; and sending the retrieved live content for rendering in the dynamic live content area of the email message opened by the one of the plurality of recipients, wherein a default live content is retrieved and sent for rendering in the dynamic live content area of the email message opened by the one of the plurality of recipients in the event that the indication of the opening of the message by the recipient is received after the live content has been retrieved more than the number of times. 12. The method of claim 11 , further comprising maintaining a count of events relating to a plurality of electronic messages sent to a plurality of recipients. 13. The method of claim 12 further comprising receiving an indication of an event relating to the electronic mail message and storing an indication of the event in a computer-readable memory. 14. The method of claim 13 , further comprising sending a second live content once the total number of events meets or exceeds the predetermined number. 15. The method of claim 13 , wherein the event is a click on the live content or other feature contained in the electronic mail message. 16. The method of claim 13 , wherein the event is opening the electronic mail message. 17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the first opening of the electronic mail message is the only event tabulate for a given recipient. 18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the first click is the only event tabulate for a given recipient. 19. The method of claim 11 , further comprising communicating with an e-mail client to which an e-mail message including a live content area has been sent to determine when the sent e-mail has been opened and to send live content requested by the client that opened the email.
