An agricultural vehicle train includes a tractor, a rotary cutter, and a hitch assembly coupling the rotary cutter to the tractor. The hitch assembly includes a first connection interface attaching the hitch assembly to the tractor and a second connection interface attaching the hitch assembly to the rotary cutter. The hitch assembly includes a suspension element coupled between the first and second connection interfaces to mitigate force transfer resulting from relative vertical movement; a mounting plate forming at least a portion of the second connection interface; and a pivot plate with a first end coupled to the first connection interface and a second end coupled to the suspension element. The pivot plate further includes a pivot element such that the pivot plate pivots about the pivot element relative to the mounting plate.

What is claimed is: 1. An agricultural vehicle train, comprising: a tractor; a rotary cutter; and a hitch assembly coupling the rotary cutter to the tractor, the hitch assembly comprising: a first connection interface attaching the hitch assembly to the tractor; a second connection interface attaching the hitch assembly to the rotary cutter; at least one suspension element coupled between the first connection interface and the second connection interface to mitigate force transfer between the first connection interface and the second connection interface resulting from relative vertical movement of the first connection interface with respect to the second connection interface; at least one mounting plate forming at least a portion of the second connection interface; at least one pivot plate with a first end coupled to the first connection interface and a second end coupled to the at least one suspension element, the at least one pivot plate further comprising at least one pivot element coupled to the at least one mounting plate such that the at least one pivot plate pivots about the at least one pivot element relative to the at least one mounting plate such that the at least one suspension element moves to absorb at least a portion of a kinetic energy force resulting from the relative vertical movement, thereby at least partially maintaining a consistent cutting height; at least one mounting bracket coupled to the at least one pivot element; and a pivot pin coupling the at least one pivot element to the at least one mounting bracket such that the at least one pivot plate is pivotable about the pivot pin relative to the at least one mounting plate in a vertical fore-aft direction between the tractor and the rotary cutter when the at least one suspension element moves. 2. The agricultural vehicle train of claim 1 , wherein the at least one mounting plate includes a first mounting plate and a second mounting plate; and wherein the hitch assembly further comprises a first cross member extending between the first mounting plate and the second mounting plate, the at least one suspension element being mounted on the first cross member. 3. The agricultural vehicle train of claim 2 , wherein the hitch assembly further comprises: a second cross member extending between the first mounting plate and the second mounting plate; wherein the at least one mounting bracket is mounted on the second cross member. 4. The agricultural vehicle train of claim 3 , wherein the at least one pivot plate includes a first pivot plate and a second pivot plate, and wherein the at least one mounting bracket includes a first mounting bracket pivotally mounting the first pivot plate on the second cross member and a second mounting bracket pivotally mounting the second pivot plate on the second cross member. 5. The agricultural vehicle train of claim 4 , wherein the hitch assembly further comprises a third cross member extending between the first pivot plate and the second pivot plate, the at least one suspension element extending between the third cross member and the first cross member. 6. The agricultural vehicle train of claim 5 , wherein the at least one suspension element comprises a pair of coil springs. 7. The agricultural vehicle train of claim 1 , wherein the hitch assembly further comprises at least one attachment arm with a first end coupled to the first connection interface and a second end forming at least a portion of the second connection interface, the at least one attachment arm configured to maintain a first orientation of the first connection interface upon movement of the first connection interface. 8. A hitch assembly for coupling an implement to a work vehicle, the hitch assembly comprising: a first connection interface configured to attach the hitch assembly to the work vehicle; a second connection interface configured to attach the hitch assembly to the implement; at least one suspension element coupled between the first connection interface and the second connection interface to mitigate force transfer between the first connection interface and the second connection interface resulting from relative vertical movement of the first connection interface with respect to the second connection interface; at least one mounting plate forming at least a portion of the second connection interface; at least one pivot plate with a first end coupled to the first connection interface and a second end coupled to the at least one suspension element, the at least one pivot plate further comprising at least one pivot element coupled to the at least one mounting plate such that the at least one pivot plate pivots about the at least one pivot element relative to the at least one mounting plate such that the at least one suspension element absorbs at least a portion of a kinetic energy force resulting from the relative vertical movement, wherein the at least one pivot plate includes a first pivot plate and a second pivot plate; and at least one mounting bracket coupled to the at least one pivot element, wherein the at least one mounting bracket includes a first mounting bracket pivotally mounting the first pivot plate and a second mounting bracket pivotally mounting the second pivot plate. 9. The hitch assembly of claim 8 , wherein the at least one mounting plate includes a first mounting plate and a second mounting plate; and wherein the hitch assembly further comprises a first cross member extending between the first mounting plate and the second mounting plate, the at least one suspension element being mounted on the first cross member. 10. The hitch assembly of claim 9 , further comprising a second cross member extending between the first mounting plate and the second mounting plate; wherein the first and second mounting brackets are mounted on the second cross member. 11. The hitch assembly of claim 10 , further comprising a pivot pin; wherein the first and second pivot plates are pivotable about the pivot pin relative to the first and second mounting plates. 12. The hitch assembly of claim 10 , further comprising a third cross member extending between the first pivot plate and the second pivot plate, the at least one suspension element extending between the third cross member and the first cross member. 13. The hitch assembly of claim 8 , wherein the at least one suspension element comprises at least one coil spring. 14. The hitch assembly of claim 8 , wherein the at least one suspension element comprises a pair of coil springs. 15. The hitch assembly of claim 8 , further comprising at least one attachment arm with a first end coupled to the first connection interface and a second end forming at least a portion of the second connection interface. 16. The agricultural vehicle train of claim 7 , wherein the first connection interface is a clevis fastener with a top portion coupled to the at least one mounting plate and a bottom portion coupled to the at least one attachment arm. 17.
