What is claimed is: 1. A polarizing plate comprising polarizing plate protective film(s) on one or both sides of a polarizer, wherein the polarizing plate protective film contains a compound represented by general formula (I) or (II) described below, and the polarizer contains iodine, and the content of the iodine within the polarizer is 4.0 wt % or greater: [in general formula (I), X represents a group represented by general formula (I-A-3) shown below; Z represents a benzene ring or cyclohexane ring; R 1 represents a substituent; n1 represents an integer of 2 to 6; and m1 represents an integer of 0 to 4; in general formula (II), X represents a group represented by general formula (I-A-3) shown below; R 21 and R 22 each independently represent a substituent; n21 and n22 each independently represent an integer of 1 to 5; and m21 and m22 each independently represent an integer from 0 to 4; in general formula (I), a plurality of Xs may be the same or different from each other; and when m1 is an integer of 2 or greater, a plurality of R 1 s may be the same or different from each other; in general formula (II), a plurality of Xs may be the same or different from each other; when m21 is an integer of 2 or greater, a plurality of R 21 s may be the same or different from each other; and when m22 is an integer of 2 or greater, a plurality of R 22 s may be the same or different from each other; General Formula (I-A-3) in general formula (I-A-3), R C7 to R C12 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, an acyl group, an alkoxy group, or an alkoxycarbonyl group; at least two among R C7 to R C12 may bond together to form a ring; and * represents a bond]. 2. The polarizing plate according to claim 1 , wherein the polarizing plate protective film contains cellulose acylate. 3. A display device comprising at least one polarizing plate according to claim 1 . 4. A display device comprising at least one polarizing plate according to claim 2 .
