A toner including a binder resin, wherein the toner includes a tetrahydrofuran (THF)-insoluble component in a range of from 10% by mass through 40% by mass, wherein the toner has a main peak in a range of from 12,000 through 18,000 in a molecular weight distribution of a THF-soluble component as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), wherein the main peak has a half value width in a range of from 20,000 to 50,000, and wherein the toner includes a component having a molecular weight of 2,000 or less in a range of from 10.0% by mass through 20.0% by mass and a component having a molecular weight of 100,000 or more of 8.0% by mass or less.

The invention claimed is: 1. A toner, comprising, a binder resin, wherein: the toner comprises a tetrahydrofuran (THF)-insoluble component in a range of from 10% by mass through 40% by mass; the toner has a main peak in a range of from 12,000 through 18,000 in a molecular weight distribution of a THF-soluble component as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC); the main peak has a half value width in a range of from 20,000 to 50,000; and the toner comprises a component having a molecular weight of 2,000 or less in a range of from 10.0% by mass through 20.0% by mass and a component having a molecular weight of 100,000 or more of 8.0% by mass or less. 2. The toner according to claim 1 , wherein: the toner has the main peak in a range of from 15,000 through 18,000 in the molecular weight distribution; and the main peak has the half value width in a range of from 35,000 to 50,000. 3. The toner according to claim 1 , wherein the toner is a toner for one-component development. 4. A toner stored unit, comprising the toner of claim 1 stored in a container, device or cartridge. 5. An image forming apparatus, comprising: an electrostatic latent image bearer; an electrostatic latent image forming unit configured to form an electrostatic latent image on the electrostatic latent image bearer; a developing unit containing a developing agent and configured to develop the electrostatic latent image with the developing agent to form a visible image; a transfer unit configured to transfer the visible image onto a recording medium to form a transferred image on the recording medium; and a fixing unit configured to fix the transferred image on the recording medium, wherein the developing agent comprises the toner of claim 1 .
