Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

At a printer that feeds a continuous paper unwound from a paper sheet supply unit in a sheet-shape to a printing head portion side via a damper portion, and then prints on a label of the continuous paper, in conjunction with an opening and closing operation of the printing head portion of the printing unit, the damper portion opens and closes in a vertical direction.

The invention claimed is: 1. A printer comprising: a feeding unit configured to feed a print medium; a printing head portion including a printing unit configured to print on the print medium, the printing head portion being configured to open/close such that the printing unit separates from and closes to the feeding unit; and a damper portion disposed on an upstream side of the printing head portion in a feed direction, the damper portion being configured to swing around a rotary shaft in order to give tension to the print medium, wherein the rotary shaft moves to a front side in a vertical direction in conjunction with an opening operation of the printing head portion where the printing unit separates from the feeding unit, and a position of the damper portion changes. 2. The printer according to claim 1 , wherein the rotary shaft moves in a direction opposite to a direction for giving tension to the print medium in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion. 3. The printer according to claim 1 , further comprising a support body configured to support the damper portion, the damper portion being configured to open/close, wherein the support body opens in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion, and the position of the damper portion changes. 4. The printer according to claim 1 , further comprising: a first support body configured to support the printing head portion, the printing head portion being configured to open/close; and a second support body configured to support the damper portion, the damper portion being configured to open/close, wherein the second support body opens in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion by the first support body, and the position of the damper portion changes. 5. The printer according to claim 4 , wherein the second support body opens in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion by the first support body, and the rotary shaft moves in a direction separating from an internal bottom surface of the printer. 6. The printer according to claim 1 , wherein the rotary shaft moves in a direction closing to an internal bottom surface of the printer in conjunction with a closing operation of the printing head portion. 7. The printer according to claim 1 , wherein the rotary shaft moves in a direction separating from an internal bottom surface of the printer in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion. 8. The printer according to claim 5 , wherein the print medium is fed between the internal bottom surface of the printer and the damper portion. 9. A printer comprising: a feeding unit configured to feed a print medium; a printing head portion including a printing unit configured to print on the print medium, the printing head portion being configured to open/close such that the printing unit separates from and closes to the feeding unit; and a damper portion disposed on an upstream side of the printing head portion in a feed direction, the damper portion being configured to swing around a rotary shaft in order to give tension to the print medium, wherein the rotary shaft moves in a state where the rotary shaft is parallel to a surface of the print medium in conjunction with an opening operation of the printing head portion where the printing unit separates from the feeding unit, and a position of the damper portion changes. 10. The printer according to claim 9 , wherein the rotary shaft moves in a direction opposite to a direction for giving tension to the print medium in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion. 11. The printer according to claim 9 , further comprising a support body configured to support the damper portion, the damper portion being configured to open/close, wherein the support body opens in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion, and the position of the damper portion changes. 12. The printer according to claim 9 , further comprising: a first support body configured to support the printing head portion, the printing head portion being configured to open/close; and a second support body configured to support the damper portion, the damper portion being configured to open/close, wherein the second support body opens in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion by the first support body, and the position of the damper portion changes. 13. The printer according to claim 12 , wherein the second support body opens in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion by the first support body, and the rotary shaft moves in a direction separating from an internal bottom surface of the printer. 14. The printer according to claim 9 , wherein the rotary shaft moves in a direction closing to an internal bottom surface of the printer in conjunction with a closing operation of the printing head portion. 15. The printer according to claim 9 , wherein the rotary shaft moves in a direction separating from an internal bottom surface of the printer in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion. 16. The printer according to claim 13 , wherein the print medium is fed between the internal bottom surface of the printer and the damper portion. 17. A printer comprising: a feeding unit configured to feed a print medium; a printing head portion including a printing unit configured to print on the print medium, the printing head portion being configured to open/close such that the printing unit separates from and closes to the feeding unit; and a width adjustment guiding portion disposed on an upstream side of the printing head portion in a feed direction, the width adjustment guiding portion contacting at least one side edge of the print medium to guide a feed of the print medium, wherein a position of the width adjustment guiding portion changes in conjunction with an opening operation of the printing head portion where the printing unit separates from the feeding unit. 18. The printer according to claim 17 , further comprising a support body configured to support the width adjustment guiding portion, the width adjustment guiding portion being configured to open/close, wherein the support body opens in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion, and the position of the width adjustment guiding portion changes. 19. The printer according to claim 17 , further comprising: a first support body configured to support the printing head portion, the printing head portion being configured to open/close; and a second support body configured to support the width adjustment guiding portion, the width adjustment guiding portion being configured to open/close, wherein the second support body opens in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion by the first support body, and the position of the width adjustment guiding portion changes. 20. The printer according to claim 19 , wherein the second support body opens in conjunction with the opening operation of the printing head portion by the first support body, and the width adjustment guiding portion moves in a direction separating from an internal bottom surface of the printer.
