Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Some embodiments provide an illumination system with an outer housing including a base, a central housing pivotably coupled to the base including a fluid inlet, and an upper housing including a fluid outlet. The inner housing defines a chamber and is coupled to the base, and includes a fluid aperture adjacent to the base, and a fluid aperture adjacent to the upper housing and a viewing aperture. The chamber houses an evaporator system not visible through the outer housing, and an illumination device. Some embodiments include a repellent system with a base including a fluid inlet pivotably coupled to a main housing enclosing an inner region, and including an upper portion with at least one fluid outlet. In some embodiments, an evaporator system within the inner region is not visible through the main housing. Some embodiments include an evaporator assembly that includes a lockable evaporator support to render the system non-refillable.

The invention claimed is: 1. A pest repellant system, comprising: a main housing defining an inner region, the main housing having an upper housing joined to a base, wherein the upper housing includes a substantially horizontal top wall and sidewall extending downward from the top wall, the sidewall including at least one upper fluid outlet and the base including at least one inlet opening; a repellant reservoir having a reservoir, a wick and an upwardly extending neck, wherein the reservoir defines a chamber that receives a repellant fluid and the wick extends from the chamber through the neck portion; an evaporator system positioned within the inner region of the housing, the evaporator system including: a support bracket having an intermediate wall with an aperture and a side wall arrangement upwardly extending from an outer periphery of the intermediate wall to define a receptacle, the support bracket further having at least one support member extending downward from the intermediate wall, the support member being positioned radially outward of the aperture and radially inward of the side wall arrangement; a heater element positioned within the receptacle, the heater element having an opening that is aligned with the aperture of the support bracket, a locking cap for securing the repellant reservoir to the support bracket to define an installed position; wherein in the installed position, an extent of the wick extends through the aperture in the intermediate wall of the support bracket and into opening of the heater element. 2. The pest repellant system of claim 1 , wherein the support bracket includes at least one rib positioned adjacent a periphery of the aperture. 3. The pest repellant system of claim 2 , wherein the rib extends along an extent of the intermediate wall of the support bracket. 4. The pest repellant system of claim 1 , wherein the support bracket includes a plurality of ribs positioned adjacent a periphery of the aperture. 5. The pest repellant system of claim 4 , wherein the ribs extend between opposed walls of the side wall arrangement. 6. The pest repellant system of claim 1 , wherein the support bracket includes at least one latch for securing the heater element within the receptacle, wherein the latch extends above the heater element in the installed position. 7. The pest repellant system of claim 1 , wherein the heater element includes an upper surface that resides below an upper edge of the side wall arrangement. 8. The pest repellant system of claim 1 , wherein the wick includes an upper end that resides adjacent to an upper surface of the heater element. 9. The pest repellant system of claim 1 , wherein the support bracket includes a plurality of elongated supports extending downward from the intermediate wall, the elongated supports being positioned radially outward of the aperture and radially inward of the side wall arrangement to define a lower receptacle. 10. The pest repellant system of claim 9 , wherein in the installed position, an upper extent of the repellant reservoir is received by the lower receptacle to join the repellant reservoir to the support bracket. 11. The pest repellant system of claim 9 , wherein the locking cap includes a plurality of external flanges that are cooperatively dimensioned with and engage the elongated supports in the installed position, wherein the external flanges are positioned adjacent a lower edge of the locking cap. 12. The pest repellant system of claim 1 , wherein the locking cap includes a plurality of internal flanges that engage a thread formed on the neck of the repellant reservoir in the installed position, and wherein the internal flanges comprise at least one lower internal flange and at least one upper internal flange, the lower internal flange being positioned between a lower end of the locking cap and the upper internal flange. 13. The pest repellant system of claim 1 , wherein the base comprises a bottom wall and a side wall extending upward from the bottom wall, and wherein the inlet opening is formed in the side wall. 14. The pest repellant system of claim 1 , wherein the base comprises a bottom wall and a side wall extending upward from the bottom wall, and wherein the inlet opening is formed in the bottom wall. 15. The pest repellant system of claim 1 , wherein the base comprises a bottom wall and a side wall extending upward from the bottom wall, and wherein the inlet opening is formed in both the side wall and the bottom wall. 16. A pest repellant system, comprising: an elongated support pole that is configured to be inserted into a support surface; a main housing coupled to an extent of the elongated support pole, the main housing having an upper housing with a substantially horizontal top wall and sidewall extending downward from the top wall, the sidewall including at least one upper fluid outlet, and wherein the upper housing is coupled to a base including at least one inlet opening; a repellant reservoir having a repellant chamber and a wick extending upward from the chamber through a neck portion of the repellant reservoir; an evaporator system positioned within the housing, the evaporator system including: a support bracket having an intermediate wall with an aperture, the support bracket also having a side wall arrangement upwardly extending from an outer periphery of the intermediate wall to define an upper receptacle, a heater element positioned within the upper receptacle, the heater element having an opening that is aligned with the aperture of the support bracket; a circumferential support member extending downward from the intermediate wall, the support member being positioned radially outward of the aperture and radially inward of the side wall arrangement; a securing cap extending downward from the intermediate wall, the securing cap being positioned (i) radially outward of the aperture of the intermediate wall, (ii) adjacent to the support member and (iii) radially inward of the side wall arrangement; wherein in an installed position, the repellant reservoir is inserted into the securing cap and an extent of the wick extends through the aperture in the intermediate wall of the support bracket and into the opening of the heater element. 17.
