Methods and apparatus are provided providing users with the ability to create and produce multimedia devices. In one aspect of the present invention, users are provided with the capability to easily and seamlessly create slideshows using multiple forms of graphic elements instead of just still pictures. In another aspect of the present invention, users are provided with the capability to create and modify the DVD menu that is required for DVDs to function properly on conventional DVD players. In still another aspect of the present invention, users are provided with an intuitive graphic interface that simply and clearly explains the trade offs the user must make in deciding which mode to record the DVD.

What is claimed is: 1. A method, comprising: receiving, by a computing device, multiple forms of media to be integrated into a slide show, wherein the multiple forms of media comprise one or more video files and one or more image files that are each associated with a respective audio track, wherein a first video file of the one or more video files includes a corresponding first audio track and a second video file of the one or more video files includes a corresponding second audio track, wherein the corresponding second audio track is disabled or non-existent; receiving, by the computing device, input selecting a background audio track for the slide show; and automatically integrating, by the computing device, in response to receiving the multiple forms of media, the video files, the image files, and the background audio track together into the slide show, wherein the background audio track is played during playback of the slide show when the computing device detects that there is no audio signal generated by another audio track in the slide show. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: retrieving, using a processor, the one or more video files and the one or more image files from one or more storage devices. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the respective audio tracks of the video files comprise audio captured as part of the generation of the video files. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: formatting the multiple forms of media in the slide show to be playable by a media player; and automatically playing the slide show using the media player. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein automatically playing the slide show comprises: displaying a video and playing the respective audio track of the video; and in response to the video ending, playing a different audio track than that associated with the video. 6. The method of claim 4 , wherein automatically playing the slide show comprises: displaying a video; and in response to the video ending, ending the slide show. 7. The method of claim 4 , wherein automatically playing the slide show comprises: playing the respective audio track associated with a video file as the video file plays; and in response to the respective video file ending, presenting an image and fading in the background audio track. 8. The method of claim 4 , wherein automatically playing the slide show comprises: fading out the background audio track presented with the one or more image files prior to a transition to presenting a video file; and in response to the transition to presenting the video file, playing the respective audio track associated with the video file. 9. The method of claim 4 , wherein automatically playing the slide show comprises: displaying a text file for a predetermined period of time. 10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: defining, using a processor, a period of time that images included in the slide show are presented when the slide show is played. 11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising playing the slide show, wherein playing the slide show comprises: displaying a first image for the period of time; and in response to the period of time elapsing, displaying a second image for the period of time or playing a video file. 12. A system, comprising: a hard drive that stores video files having respective audio tracks, image files, and audio files; one or more processors; and a non-transitory computer program product, stored on a machine-readable medium, comprising instructions operable to cause the processors to: retrieve video files, image files, and audio files from the hard drive, wherein a first video file of the video files includes a corresponding first audio track and a second video file of the video files includes a corresponding second audio track, wherein the corresponding second audio track is disabled or non-existent; receive input selecting a background audio track; and format the video files, image files, audio files, and the background audio track as a slide show that is enabled to be played by a media player, wherein the background audio track is played during playback of the slide show when the system detects that there is no audio signal generated by another audio track in the slide show. 13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the media player automatically plays the slide show after formatting of the slide show is completed. 14. A non-transitory computer program product, stored on a machine-readable medium, comprising instructions operable to cause a processor to: receive multiple forms of media to be integrated into a slide show, wherein the multiple forms of media comprise one or more video files and one or more image files that are each associated with a respective audio track, wherein a first video file of the one or more video files includes a corresponding first audio track and a second video file of the one or more video files includes a corresponding second audio track, wherein the corresponding second audio track is disabled or non-existent; receive, by the computing device, input selecting a background audio track for the slide show; and automatically integrate, in response to receiving the multiple forms of media, the video files, image files, and background audio track together into the slide show in a chronological order based on when images and videos were captured, wherein the background audio track is played during playback of the slide show when the computing device detects that there is no audio signal generated by another audio track in the slide show. 15. The computer program product of claim 14 , further comprising instructions to: retrieve, using the processor, the one or more video files and the one or more image files from one or more storage devices. 16. The computer program product of claim 14 , further comprising instructions to: define, using the processor, a period of time that images included in the slide show are displayed when the slide show is played. 17. The computer program product of claim 14 , further comprising instructions to: play the slide show, wherein playing the slide show comprises: displaying a first image for the period of time; and in response to the period of time elapsing, displaying a second image for the period of time or playing a video file. 18. The computer program product of claim 14 , wherein the instructions to automatically integrate the video and image files together into the slide show further include instructions to format the slide show to be playable by a media player. 19. The computer program product of claim 14 , further comprising instructions to: automatically play the slide show using a media player.
