Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Example techniques for generating customized content may include the following operations: receiving a search query from a computing device associated with a user; performing a search of electronic content based on the search query; obtaining a search result based on the search of electronic content; obtaining configurable content that relates to the search query, where the configurable content includes a field that is configurable; identifying user-specific content based on the search query; configuring the field of the configurable content based on the user-specific content to thereby produce configured content; and outputting data corresponding to the search result and the configured content for use in generating a Web page containing the search result and the configured content.

What is claimed is: 1. A system to generate customized content, comprising: a server system including at least one processor to: receive audible information from a user including an audio request to provide content results to a computing device; convert the audible information into digital information including the audio request to provide content results to the computing device; responsive to the of the audible information, obtain configurable content for delivery to the computing device with the content results, the configurable content including a message field and a configurable text field including at least one replaceable blank text field; retrieve user-specific content from a database, the user-specific content comprising private social network information obtained from a social network of a user based on a permission by the user to access the private social network information; generate configured text by replacing the at least one replaceable blank text field with text based on the user-specific content that includes the private social network information obtained from the social network of the user; obtain message content for the message field based, in part, on the private social network information; produce configured content including the message content and the configured text; and provide the configured content to the computing device to display the configured text and the message content. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the database is associated with a provider of the social network. 3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the user-specific content comprises information about parties to which the computing device is connected via the social network. 4. The system of claim 1 , the server system including at least one processor to: provide content results to the computing device to cause the computing device to generate audible sound corresponding to the content results. 5. The system of claim 4 , the server system including the at least one processor to: obtain, from the computing device, an indication of the permission to access the private social network information. 6. The system of claim 1 , the server system including the at least one processor to: obtain a condition under which to provide the configured content to the computing device, wherein the server system serves the configured content to the computing device in accordance with the condition. 7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the condition includes a predetermined period of time, relative to a date listed in the user-specific content, during which to provide the configured content to the computing device. 8. The system of claim 6 , wherein the condition includes serving the configured content to the computing device when the server system receives an indication that the computing device is within a predetermined distance of a location listed in the user-specific content. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the configurable text field is associated with metadata indicating an appropriate message type for the configurable text field. 10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the metadata indicates that the appropriate message type is birthday-related, and the processor configures the configurable text field based on a birthday listed in the user-specific content. 11. The system of claim 1 , the server system including the at least one processor to obtain message content for the message field based, in part, on a search query included in the audio request. 12. A method of generating customized content, comprising: receiving, by a server system, audible information from a user, the audible information including an audio request to provide content results to a computing device; converting, by the server system, the audible information into digital information including the audio request to provide content results to the computing device; obtaining, responsive to the audible information, configurable content for delivery to a computing device with the content results, the configurable content including a message field and a configurable text field including at least one replaceable blank field; retrieving, by the server system, user-specific content from a database, the user-specific content comprising private social network information obtained from a social network of a user based on a permission by the user to access the private social network information; generating, by the server system, configured text by replacing the at least one replaceable blank field with text based on the user-specific content that includes the private social network information obtained from the social network of the user; obtaining, by the server system message content based, in part, on the private social network information; producing, by the server system, configured content including the message content and the configured text; and providing, by the server system, the configured content to the computing device to display the configured text and the message content. 13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the database is associated with a provider of the social network. 14. The method of claim 12 , wherein the user-specific content comprises information about parties to which the user of the computing device is connected via the social network. 15. The method of claim 12 , comprising: providing content results to the computing device for generating audible sound corresponding to the content results. 16. The method of claim 15 , comprising: obtaining, from the computing device, an indication of the permission to access the private social network information. 17. The method of claim 12 , comprising: obtaining, by the processor, a condition under which to provide the configured content to the computing device, wherein the configured content is served to the computing device in accordance with the condition. 18. The method of claim 17 , wherein the condition includes a predetermined period of time, relative to a date listed in the user-specific content, during which to provide the configured content to the computing device. 19. The method of claim 17 , wherein the condition includes serving the configured content to the computing device when the server system receives an indication that the computing device is within a predetermined distance of a location listed in the user-specific content. 20. The method of claim 12 , obtaining, by the server system, message content based, also in part, on a search query included in the audio request.
