A molded article comprising at least one polyester which comprises: (a) a dicarboxylic acid component comprising: i) 95 to 99.99 mole % of terephthalic acid residues; and ii) 0.01 to 5 mole % of isophthalic acid; and (b) a glycol component comprising: i) 5 to 15 mole % of 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues; ii) 85 to 95 mole % of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol residues; and iii) 5 mole % or less of modifying glycols which are not 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol or cyclohexanedimethanol, wherein the polyester has an inherent viscosity from 0.80 to 1.0 dL/g and a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 90 to 110° C., and wherein the molded article does not contain polycarbonate.

We claim: 1. A molded article comprising polyester, wherein the polyester comprises: (a) a dicarboxylic acid component comprising: i) 95 to 99.99 mole % of terephthalic acid residues; and ii) 0.01 to 5 mole % of isophthalic acid residues; and (b) a glycol component comprising: i) 5 to 15 mole % of 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues; ii) 85 to 95 mole % of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol residues; and iii) 5 mole % or less of modifying glycols which are not 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol or cyclohexanedimethanol, wherein the total mole % of the dicarboxylic acid component is 100 mole %, and the total mole % of the glycol component is 100 mole %; wherein the inherent viscosity of said polyester is from 0.80 to 1 dL/g as determined in 60/40 (wt/wt) phenol/tetrachloroethane at a concentration of 0.5 g/100 ml at 25° C.; wherein said polyester has a Tg of 90 to 110° C.; and wherein the molded article does not contain polycarbonate. 2. The molded article according to claim 1 , wherein the glycol component of the polyester comprises 5 to 10 mole % 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues, 90 to 95 mole % 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol residues, and 5 mole % or less of modifying glycols which are not 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol or cyclohexanedimethanol. 3. The molded article according to claim 1 , wherein the polyester has an inherent viscosity from 0.80 to 0.95 dL/g as determined in 60/40 (wt/wt) phenol/tetrachloroethane at a concentration of 0.5 g/100 ml at 25° C. 4. The molded article according to claim 1 , wherein the polyester has a Tg of 95 to 105° C. 5. The molded article according to claim 1 , wherein the 2,2,4,4tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues are a mixture comprising greater than 50 mole % of cis-2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues and less than 50 mole % of trans-2,2,4,4tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues. 6. The molded article according to claim 1 , wherein the 2,2,4,4tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues are a mixture comprising from 30 to 70 mole % of cis-2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues and from 70 to 30 mole % of trans-2,2,4,4tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues. 7. The molded article according to claim 1 , wherein said 2,2,4,4tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues are a mixture comprising from 40 to 60 mole % of cis-2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues and from 60 to 40 mole % of trans-2,2,4,4tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residues. 8. The molded article according to claim 1 , wherein the molded article is a food storage container. 9. The molded article according to claim 8 , wherein the food storage container is a beverage container. 10. The molded article according to claim 9 , wherein the beverage container is a carbonated softdrink container. 11. The molded article according to claim 1 , wherein the molded article is an injection stretch blow molded article. 12. The molded article according to claim 1 , wherein said polyester has a melt viscosity of less than 10,000 poise as measured a 1 radian/second on a rotary melt rheometer at 290° C. 13. The molded article according to claim 12 , wherein said polyester has a notched Izod impact strength of at least 3 ft-lbs/in at 23° C. according to ASTM D256 with a 10-mil notch in a ⅛-inch thick bar. 14. The molded article according to claim 13 , wherein said polyester has a notched Izod impact strength of at least 7.5 ft-lbs/in at 23° C. according to ASTM D256 with a 10-mil notch in a ⅛-inch thick bar.
