What is claimed is: 1. A vascular implant made in total or in parts of a biodegradable magnesium alloy consisting essentially of: Y: 2.0-6.0% by weight, Nd: 1.5-4.5% by weight, Gd: 0-4.0% by weight, Dy: 0-4.0% by weight, Er: 0-4.0% by weight, Zr: 0.1-1.0% by weight, Li: 0-0.2% by weight, Al: 0-0.3% by weight; under the condition that: a) a total content of Er, Gd and Dy is in the range of 0.82-4.0% by weight, and b) a total content of Nd, Er, Gd and Dy is in the range of 2.98-8.5% by weight; the balance being magnesium and incidental impurities up to a total of 0.3% by weight. 2. The vascular implant of claim 1 , wherein the content of Y is 3.5-4.5% by weight. 3. The vascular implant of claim 2 , wherein the content of Y is 3.9-4.1% by weight. 4. The vascular implant of claim 1 , wherein the content of Nd is 1.5-3.0% by weight. 5. The vascular implant of claim 1 , wherein the content of Nd is 2.0-3.0% by weight. 6. The vascular implant of claim 1 , wherein the content of Zr is 0.1-0.7% by weight. 7. The vascular implant of claim 1 , wherein the total content of Er, Gd and Dy is in the range of 0.82-1.5% by weight. 8. The vascular implant of claim 1 , wherein the total content of Nd, Er, Gd and Dy is in the range of 2.98-3.5% by weight. 9. The vascular implant of claim 1 , wherein the area percentage of particles in the alloy having an average particle size in the range of 1 to 15 μm is less than 3%. 10. The vascular implant of claim 1 , wherein the implant is a stent. 11. A method of manufacturing a vascular implant, comprising: providing a biodegradable magnesium alloy consisting essentially of: Y: 2.0-6.0% by weight, Nd: 1.5-4.5% by weight, Gd: 0-4.0% by weight, Dy: 0-4.0% by weight, Er: 0-4.0% by weight, Zr: 0.1-1.0% by weight, Li: 0-0.2% by weight, Al: 0-0.3% by weight; under the condition that: a) a total content of Er, Gd and Dy is in the range of 0.82-4.0% by weight, and b) a total content of Nd, Er, Gd and Dy is in the range of 2.98-8.5% by weight; the balance being magnesium and incidental impurities; and forming an implant up to a total of 0.3% by weight of the alloy. 12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the vascular implant is a stent.
