Disclosed is a hand held appliance comprising a body, a handle having a first end connected to the body and a second end comprising a fluid inlet, a fluid flow path from the fluid inlet through the handle towards the body, a fan unit for drawing fluid along the fluid flow path and a cable extending from the second end of the handle for supplying power to the fan unit wherein at least one wire from the cable is routed along a wall of the handle. The wall of the handle may comprise at least one recess extending longitudinally along the handle for accommodating the at least one wire from the cable. The cable may comprise two wires and the wall two recesses extending longitudinally along the handle one recess for accommodating each of the wires from the cable. The two recesses may be approximately diametrically opposite in the wall.

The invention claimed is: 1. A hand held appliance comprising a body, a handle having a first end connected to the body and a second end comprising a fluid inlet, a fluid flow path from the fluid inlet through the handle towards the body, a fan unit for drawing fluid along the fluid flow path, and a cable extending from the second end of the handle for supplying power to the fan unit, wherein a wall is formed from two half cylinders extending along the handle from the first end, the two half cylinders abut together along a longitudinal edge to form the wall, a first one of the two half cylinders comprises a recess formed within the longitudinal edge, and at least one wire from the cable is housed within the recess. 2. The appliance of claim 1 , wherein the cable comprises two wires and the wall comprises two recesses extending longitudinally along the handle one recess for accommodating each of the wires from the cable. 3. The appliance of claim 2 , wherein the two recesses are approximately diametrically opposite in the wall. 4. The appliance of claim 1 , wherein a first one of the two half cylinders comprises a pair of recesses, one disposed along each longitudinal edge of the first one of the two half cylinders. 5. The appliance of claim 1 , wherein a second one of the two half cylinders comprises at least one further recess formed within a longitudinal edge. 6. The appliance of claim 5 , wherein the at least one further recess is disposed radially spaced from the recess. 7. The appliance of claim 5 , wherein the at least one further recess is adjacent the recess when the two half cylinders abut together. 8. The appliance of claim 5 , wherein any of the at least one recess and the at least one further recess extend at least partially along the wall. 9. The appliance of claim 1 , wherein the wall comprises a channel. 10. The appliance of claim 9 , wherein the channel is adapted to retain the at least one wire. 11. A hand held appliance comprising a body, a handle having a first end connected to the body and a second end comprising a fluid inlet, a fluid flow path from the fluid inlet through the handle towards the body, a fan unit for drawing fluid along the fluid flow path, and a cable extending from the second end of the handle for supplying power to the fan unit, wherein at least one wire from the cable is routed along a wall of the handle, the wall comprises a channel adapted to retain the at least one wire, the wall is formed from two half cylinders extending along the handle from the first end, the channel is located in one of the two half cylinders that form the wall, and the channel is circumferentially spaced along the wall from a longitudinal edge of the two half cylinders. 12. The appliance of claim 11 , wherein the channel extends partially along the length of the handle. 13. The appliance of claim 1 , wherein the wall comprises a channel and the channel is located in one of the two half cylinders that form the wall. 14. The appliance of claim 11 , wherein the channel is located centrally of and extends longitudinally along one of the two half cylinders. 15. The appliance of claim 11 , wherein the handle comprises an end wall and the cable extends through the end wall. 16. The appliance of claim 15 , wherein the cable is located approximately centrally within the end wall. 17. The appliance of claim 16 , wherein the cable is housed within a cable guide. 18. The appliance of claim 17 , wherein the cable guide surrounds the cable isolating the cable from the fluid flow path. 19. The appliance of claim 17 , wherein the cable guide comprises a central cylinder for housing the cable. 20. The appliance of claim 19 , wherein the cable guide further comprises at least one arm for guiding the at least one wire from the cable to the wall. 21. The appliance of claim 20 , wherein the at least one arm is shaped to minimize flow disturbance within the fluid flow path. 22. The appliance of claim 21 , wherein the at least one arm has a tapered back face. 23. The appliance of claim 20 , wherein the at least one arm extends along the fluid flow path towards the body from the central cylinder to the wall. 24. The appliance of claim 20 , wherein the cable guide includes two arms radially spaced around the cable guide one housing a live wire and the other a neutral wire. 25. The appliance of claim 24 , wherein the cable guide is Y-shaped. 26. The appliance of claim 17 , wherein the cable guide is formed in two parts. 27. The appliance of claim 26 , wherein one part of the cable guide is formed integrally with one of the two half cylinders. 28. The appliance of claim 27 , wherein a second part of the cable guide is formed integrally with a second of the two half cylinders. 29. The appliance of claim 11 , wherein the wall of the handle is moulded from a plastic material. 30. The appliance of claim 11 , wherein the handle comprises an outer wall which extends around the wall of the handle. 31. The appliance of claim 11 , wherein the fan unit is provided in the handle of the appliance. 32. The appliance of claim 31 , wherein the fan unit includes a motor and an impeller. 33. The appliance of claim 9 , wherein the fan unit is provided in the handle and the channel is provided in a region of the handle that houses the fan unit. 34. The appliance of claim 11 , wherein the fan unit is provided in the handle and the channel is provided in a region of the handle that houses the fan unit. 35. The appliance of claim 11 , wherein the appliance is a hair care appliance. 36. The appliance of claim 35 , wherein the appliance is a hairdryer. 37. The appliance of claim 35 , wherein the appliance is a hot styling brush.
